PH Plan Quick Start

@Island Grower sorry it's taken me so long to respond...
I have not used the fruit salts...we use regular baking soda which will fizz and act all mental when dissolved with warm water (I dissolve in cool water)...I don't know for sure, but...the "going mental" should happen in our stomach making the chemical reaction we want.

Do you have a ph pen? It is best to know your body ph before starting the ph quick start and during the progress.

The Ph Quick Start was designed to let you know how much better you feel when your body ph is in the neutral to alkaline level.
Filling out the log starting on day one and going through day 7, with the ph level of your urine and your mood/pain scale, lets you see how the two interact. Typically when ph is up, pain is down and mood is up.
On the 8th day you stop taking the baking soda but still fill out the logs.

It usually does not take long for your ph to drop after stopping the baking soda and then pain goes back up and mood declines again.
Your diet and lifestyle will determine the amount of baking soda you need as an ongoing supplement.

@Root no worries, you're busy I'm sure! My pH pen hasn't arrived yet, I just wanted to try it for a week with hugely reduced sugar intake too, to see what happened. I'll be interested to know what my peeH is as I didn't seem to have any effects beyond a slight sharpening of mental clarity.
Diet isn't fab but the processed stuff has pretty much gone out of the window as it's just not available here. I'm cooking from scratch and I've just acquired a slow cooker (breathes sigh of relief). I don't have a grill/broiler which is a major pain as I don't really like frying stuff, but there are more vegetables and fruit being consumed here than in my former residence. Plus, stress should be less (but I think it's relative as I get stress-related boils and they're not fun, and most of my stress is self-inflicted).

I will report back in due course!

Cutting out the sugar and processed foods will do wonders for you and along with lots of fruits and veggies. Try to use fruits as your sweetener.
Another problem a lot of people have is giving up sodas.
Knowing what your ph is will help you see what you should and shouldn't consume.

Most of my stress is self-inflicted too so I know what you mean.
Hope where you are now stays stress free for you.
:bighug:

@Root thank you, I'll know next month when the massive decision that's coming up will have been made - it's a life changer! I've already done my bit but the other half of the team has to make his mind up too.

I have magnesium tablets here now, waiting for magnesium chloride flakes to arrive. I've told that one to my mum, she's trying it out for her arthritis but I don't know that I could persuade her to a pH pen LOL.

It is kind of strange to ask someone to pee in a cup for you

Hi @Mossy I have just stumbled acRoss this thread just before I have to leave for work so currently can't read through 30 odd pages....

But your first post grabbed me as soon as you mentioned ME. My girlfriend has been diagnosed with ME and GBS (guilan barre syndrome) and the doctors just prescribe her heavy doses of tramadol and pregabalin to mask the problems.

Do you think this may help her? And what is the process of this after the first "test" week and where do you go from there? Sorry if this has all been spoken about previously but right now I just don't have the time to read through everything.

Thanks in advance! If anything can help her i would do it for her

And also just a quick question while it's on my mind. I need to get a pH pen for my plants. Should I get one for plant and one for me? Or can you use it for both? Personally I'd assume of getting 2.....

@Haze4dayz You can use any meter my friend, for both of the things you want to do.
Thank you mate! Just give it a good clean after I guess..... It's a shame this thread has died. Seemed very promising! I wonder if people are still going with this and what effects it had?

Eek and I still take the baking soda...although not near as often as we should.
You get to where you can tell when your pH is down.
Taking the baking soda will create oxygen in your blood. That gives most people more energy and more energy should help with the GBS. I don't think baking soda would affect her medications...best to check with her doctor.

Don't forget, it takes a bit for your body to adjust. You will have increased gas and possibly diarrhea.:yoinks:
But it is worth it.:coffee:
