Hi everyone, I’m growing in biobizz light mix and for my second grow I wanted to buy a ph pen and ph up and down, my question is, am I wasting my money buying a £70 bluelab pen,I’ve read a lot that I don’t need to ph in soil, im using bottled biobizz nutes, please can you tell me what you think, thanks

Well PH ... I do 99% organic growing.
I rarely if ever PH anything.
But if you're going to grow KIND of organic ? Then you may want to ph water and soil. Having a ph pen is a good thing at any rate :baked:

Hi mate, well I aim to grow totally organic, which I believe I am only using biobizz organic products, thanks for your reply mate

I'm a long time bio bizz light mix and bio bizz nute user....I ph everything going in to 6.4-6.8...never check going out...no problems.
Some report bio bizz light mix may help buffer ph but I trust my ph meter for feeding/watering.

Hi Crowkill, I'm growing two autos in biobizz light mix and biobizz nutes. I contacted Biobizz about some issue going on with one of my plants and they adviced to correct the ph of the water (you can find the reply here)

My idea is that yeah, probably you can get away without ph-ing the solution if the soil buffers the ph, it will depends on how hard and what ph is your water. But if you can afford the ph pen don't risk to waste a month of growind and the cost of the seeds.

Good luck !

Hi mate thanks that helps a lot I have had a issue with one of my plants as well, yellowing of fan leaves And was well behind and not doing much, my reason for asking about the ph, do you now follow the all mix schedule using light mix with the autos?

I do things ALL most 100% organic.
I compost most of my own soil and water with rain or snow melt this time of year.
I've not ph anything in maybe 5 year's now or so. My ph pen is probably dried out and don't work any more. Dust:rofl:

But if your feeding your plants nutes ?
I would ph the water at least. :toke: :baked:

Yes I'm sticking with the all-mix schedule instead of light-mix schedule (well, I'm a newbie, they should know their stuff, so I trust 'em). Basically the all-mix schedule is a little lower in N than the light-mix, that's it. In case I will see sign of N deficency I will bump up the BioGrow a little. They also advice to give nutrients every watering, so I will. Hopefully I will arrive to the harvest... :)
