Problem: Non-uniform yellowing of leaves accompanied by some brown spotting

Medium/grow method: Plant magic Supreme soil in 11 litre smart pot

Feed: Plant Magic OT Bloom 4ml & OT PK 0.5ml, Calmag 0.5ml (Water, feed, water, feed)

water source: RO

Strain/age: "Fast"buds Pineapple Express, Day 111

light used: HLG QB260 v2 @ 20"

Climate: 24-27C, 45-60% RH

Additional info: This started 2-3 weeks ago and has been progressing very slowly. I backed off from 5ml on the bloom feed due to nute burn and now feed every other water. If this is P def, I plan to just increase the PK boost 0.5ml each feed.

**On a side note, this plant is obviously super old and growing at a snails pace. The colas are very leafy and there are several small leaves dying each day that aren't receiving light but I figured this is nothing to worry about.

Thanks!

:smoking: hey Sloth! ... looks like an odd pheno alright, seen this before... often they are bitchy about nutes! And little can be done to improve the bud:leaf ratio to a more normal state,... what's the usual dosage on the bottle say? Do you take a TDS/EC reading of the nute solution? .... hmm, yeah, try upping the PK a bit as mentioned,...

Hey Waira thanks for your reply. The recommended dosage for bloom is 2-5ml and 1-2ml for the pk - I think I measured it at around 600ppm last time but I think that was with ~100 ppm tap water added...

Yeah she's taking her sweet time... smells incredible though like a tropical fruit drink - just hope she's done before landlord visits in 7 weeks! :S

... i don't see any significant tip burn, so I'm thinking it's been light on the feeds, ppm's are kinda low... up the PK some and let's see,... Good on the aroma man, I love that type of smell! I have this Congo cross Lilly that's supposed to have Pina Colada aromatics, and Dinafem's Purple Afghani Kush which should be pineapple, plus an Orange Juice (their take on Tangie) and a Cherry Bomb... Waira wants a fruit bowl this year!:drool: :goodluck:

Damn that's a mouth-watering selection! I'd highly recommend the fast buds Blackberry Kush for that kind of taste/smell, literally filled the room with berries when the jar was opened! This yellowing progressed fast overnight but the pot was super dry so just fed 4ml bloom and 1.5ml pk. I put her on a 12/12 schedule for 3 days a few days ago and it looks like it's given her a kick up the arse and finally seeing bud swell

This is what she looks like after I let the put dry out too much. Do you think that would cause the yellowing? The way I understand it is if there's no water, there's no nutrients - so much yellow overnight took me off guard though

If they go dry it will yellow, what worries me here is how thick the canopy is. If it was mine I'd go to pulling some leafs in there to open up airflow.

May also want to spread a few of the biggest buds apart to make sure it doesnt have mold thats causing the yellow leaves.

Is there a fan blowing on it at all?

Hey thanks for your response. I am pulling out leaves as they yellow - I was concerned about this too and have done several big defoliations but they have kept coming back. The yellowing leaves you see here actually pull out quite easily so I will take a load out tomorrow. I have a 4" fan blowing directly on top of this and then an oscillating tower fan in the tent. I will have a good check of the buds tomorrow when I pull leaves, thanks for bringing that to my attention.

the dry-out can screw with pH, and the relative ppm load in the medium (think flash burn), all of which can screw with uptake, to say nothing of pissing off the roots! Still looks P defc. to me, but N defc. usually causes this type overall color fade,....however P defc. can do this too, but usually with the larger necrotic patches,...
Take the direct fan blasting off, that may be messing with things some as well,.. If you haven't yet, go to the reference section and read up on VPD, vapor pressure deficit.... some key dots will be connected about how T, RH% transpiration rates (and air movement) are interrelated....-

Thanks man, I have looked into VPD and try to keep things in range (as best I can on a budget). Fortunately the yellowing hasn't progressed since watering but man these colas are filled with dead leaves (no mould to report though:thumbsup:). The plant is just a mass of leaves with loads of tiny buds inside... got a feeling she won't be ready in 6 weeks, which is when she needs to be done by (rental property)... will persist until then none the less!
