I live in red clay land. There is a product called clay busters they sell. Mostly gypsum I think. Higher than gypsum. I am trying to find a cheap way to fix the holes up this year. I will be using potting mixes mostly just running test holes to find something cheap. I am gonna try some of the clay busters against some gypsum and mushroom compost. I got some seeds finishing up now. I am hoping on getting enough to test some different combos. The gypsum is suspose to make the clay form into little balls that won't compact or something like that. We will see. I am soooo ready for spring.

You might also look at adding some humic acid to your soil. It works very well in clay soils, helping to break up compaction along with increasing nutrient uptake.

Thanks for the tip I will look into it. Usually people just tell you compost compost compost and in a few years the soil will be good. I just need a fix for one year minus just buying potting mix or soil and talking it out there. That gets very expensive. I been asking oldtimers. But people been using chemical ferts for so long that they think its old timey. Around here they just till and fertilize.

Wish I knew more about organics. Would like to mix some stuff up with the soil in fall and like plant some seeds for green manure. Then come back in the spring and just turn the hole over and plant.

Oh boy its starting to get warm! I am loving this shit. I know we are not out of the storm yet but the nights are becoming milder and milder. Starting to see flys and little flying bugs. Man on man. I am sooo ready! Gotta put in my order for some super autos. Trying to wait till stich releases the new stuff.

figment if your still looking for something for clay soil check out plantsthatproduce.com they have clay soil amendments

Yo... i got a question for you advanced growers. I may not be one, but im gonna drop some $$$ on some seeds this year for a guerilla Auto grow. I think you guys will like my plan. Im gonna get 10 Super Cali HAze, some ANnapurna, some Number 1, and some Nirvana Sky. Test them all out. IM doing FFOF, i think about 1 bag per plant, which is 1.5 cu. ft. (is that good enough or should i use 2 bags per hole???) Anyway, im planning on starting them inside under some type of CFL rig, in those peat moss pellets (the bigger ones). I had success with those last year. Autos hate to be transplanted. I dont want to fuck with my yield. Should I grow them in, say, 2 liter coke bottles, till they get to that 1 ft. mark, then transplant them? or transplant them from seedling out of the pellets???

let me know guys. thanks!

JM - thanks for the advice. I'll definitely get working on that CFL rig and the bottles then to get it all ready. Any compost soil? also, these are feminized seeds that I'm working with - will it still matter if its unferted soil or no? Cause i know that the seeds dont like ferted soil but by the time they emerge past the peat moss pellets is that old enough or... ? Hate to ask these questions but I never did during my first grow and made some stupid mistakes. Let me know man... Ill be setting up a grow journal when i get it set up
