Taking recommendations for substitute for Roots original. May not be able to find it for a while. Having phenomenal success with it, 100-140 gms a plant high grade consistent flowers. Hate to switch, but.....
Autos and leds are what I'm running
Thanks

I've been using coast of Maine they have some real quality soils and so far my favorite I have even cut stems flush with dirt and plant the new one just to the side of the now cut stem I've grown some of the best flavored buds I've grown with this method and soil.

Well, I'm not sure if this helps since Roots is very widely distributed... but I've been using Royal Gold King's Mix for my auto's; this is their first true soil, coco-based.. Very light, fast drying, held it's pH well for me. In fact, I started cutting it with the premium soil I use for my outdoor photo's to get better water retention....That soil is a tougher find outside of Cali' I think? ...it's Sanctuary Soil Empire Builder

I went into my local grow shop and they also were out of the Roots original today. They said that it is in the dreaded backorder zone. Crap this is what I use too . They did have the Roots Greenfields so I bought a bag to try. It will be a while before I know how it works. Here is a pic of the catalog description. The grow shop just said to be careful because of the nutes that are already in it.

Hello, nice to see someone else using COM, I’ve used their stuff in the veggie garden with great success, and am running a couple plants in master nursery potting soil, which in the northeast is made by COM.
Which soil are using? I’m keeping my eye out for their super soil, Stonington blend but I’ve yet to find any...

That's the one I use stonington and bar harbor blend. I started with just bar harbor and it's great I recommend it over any fox farm soil simply bc it's not hot and ph is always good I can start seedlings directly ect I really enjoy it. I do add a bunch of things to wat I call the body of my soil and leave the top 3rd the head all original bar harbor blend. What is ur setup if u don't mind sharing?

Right now I am growing a Zalmadelica express from night owl in Master Nursery gardeners gold potting soil. Which in the northeast is made by COM, and is organic. I am also growing the same strain right next to it in Roots original conveniently enough. I have a grow journal going here.
I have used COMs lobster compost on my veggies for a couple years, was excited to start sampling more of their stuff for the herb, but it’s pretty scarce around here right now, at least when I bought soil a month ago.

Might want to check back. I know two places in Texas and Oklahoma got fresh shipments in this weekend.
I must say that the biological load of this media must be off the charts. I mixed up 4.5cu/ft and added my own amendments. 5hrs later you could feel the heat on the side of the tote and early the next morning, way less than 18hs later, it was above 130F.

I couldn't resist, so I dug into the pile. Hot as hell and VERY nice fuzzy fungus.

I’ll have to swing back by the store and check if they got more. Last time he said the company ran out of bags, and their supplier would be out till the end of the summer! Was tempted to ask about getting a tote, but thought better if it before it came out of my mouth haha.
also, just FWIW, the Master Nursery stuff is made by different companies in different regions of the country, so can’t vouch for their quality in your neck of the woods. In the north east it is COM. They also have a master nursery growers mix whichhas coco in it that I would like to get my mits on, but again, none around last time is checked.
