New Grower Ouroboros 1st grow- Mephisto Genetics

Hey y'all! I've stalked afn for the past 3 months & decided a month ago to start growing! I am now on day 35 on my two oldest plants (ManBearAlienPig & Sour Livers)

Setup:

• 4x4 tent
• Meizhi 1200w Led
• OF w/perlite in 5gallon buckets

Light Schedule:

• 24/0

Nutes:

• Advanced Nutrients trio, Big Bud, Overdrive, B-52, & Voodoo Juice
• Cal-Mag

Right now I have 3 strains in the tent:

• 3 MBAP
• 2 Sour Livers
• 1 Deep Blue C

Really haven't had any problems with the gals other then them being cal-mag hoes! For my first time I also attempted LST on all of my plants & topping at 4th & 5th node on two of my babes (space limitations). I think they have all took extremely well to the LST & Topping as they're all poppin' with tops! Now my only concern is trimming as my plants have tooooooons of bud sites & many are covered by leaves. Someone tell me what I should do at this point. Here's two of the gals for now!

That's a wonderful little sea of green u have there bro . Welcome to the afn and what brought you out of the shadows of you don't mind me askin , was it the vibes ? Anyways ya good lookin plants man . Does the sour livers have an punugent odor?

Looking good so far man. Great genetics and nutes, don't know the light but 1200 in a 4x4 should be sweet. Welcome to AFN, the most helpful site for growers on the webs. Give it another month and you'll be raking in bud.

hey buddy lookin sweet so far. for finally comming out the shaddows man. youve done the right thing. regarding the defol, i fimmed mine last time and ended up with 70 tops. it was a nightmare. for the last 5 weeks i was trimming 1-2 shopping bags off every week and it didnt do them any harm. as with all things in growing though start small.
i believe the genral jist is that you dont want to defol during veg as it hinders vertical growth but during bloom, once theyve stopped growing up anyway. defol causes the plant to go into self preservation mode and produce bigger better buds. apparently stronger thc aswell. its a bit more in depth but thats the basics.
start defol with a few leaves per day and see how they react to it and work your way up though. too much at once and they can go into shock i believe. concentrate on the bigger ones that are blocking out more bud sites and get rid of anything useless underneath. they look really healthy so you shouldnt have any issues with being a bit brutal with them. thats my advice mate. brutality is key. ive got height issues so have to be and its worked out awesome so far : ) reckon youll get a decent harvest like. theyre lookin mint. youve done a brilliant job with the lst aswell : )

Yeah man, definitely the vibes. I can feel the love from this place, everyone is soooooo helpful, & I just felt liked I'd be part of the fam. There's nothing much like this site in my opinion. :smoking:

But for the smell, MBAP & Sour Livers got their smell 3 days ago! Sour Livers is definitely going to be a major stink monster -- her terpene profile is a extremely pungent sour skunk candy if that makes any sense. She's not too intense right now, but I can see Mephisto's smell description being spot on

MBAP has a very light aroma right now, but reminiscence of lemon haze or just lemon in general. Very nice .

Spot on friend, exactly what I was looking for! I knew defol could be detrimental at certain growth periods, but your explanation definitely cleared things up for me. I will most likely start taking 2-4 leaves off a day/every other day in the coming week depending on how she takes it. Thanks for all the sound advice!
