Any one else have a hard time finding oystershells?
I found them at the feed store... it is commonly mixed with chicken feed, I think. It's not ground up like a powder, but it's pretty well crushed.

If I could just get 2 dozen on the half shell, with Tabasco please...

My grampa and I would pig down on Apalachicola oysters back in the day... You ever see them anymore? or are they a thing of the passed.

Does it say crushed oysters on the bag?

Nope, they are not a thing of the past unless you have a liver disorder... as far as things I can't eat from the HepC, I may miss those the most... very fresh here, as you know. There were a lot of oyster bars that sold them for 10 cents a piece, already on the half shell... Checking out the beach, with a cold brew and a nice fresh tray of half-shells... that is livin' :D

testerx-hey guy! Listen, I just snuck in here, hoping, Dubv doesn't see me in this carbon based forum.

What are you amending your soil with (per gallon of base) for that necessary jolt of N through veg. And you probably incorporate a very slow release N too. So, a quick release (no burn) and a slow release--soil based.

note: Dubv - Just thinking about a side-by-side. Have lots of organics on the shelves.

Thanks.

here's a question for you organic folks anyone ever use ground deer antler in their soils? i can't find anything about using it in the garden

its the fastest growing bone on earth (insert dirty joke here:D) so in my thinking its gotta have some kind of benefit beside adding calcium right?

Mice usually eat em before they break down... least that tells you they're worth something, nutrition-wise.

Does anyone have experience using cottonseed meal in their mix?

TesterX, I have seen you mention in posts about throwing together a decent TLO mix for around $50. Would you mind writing your recipe for a "budget" mix? I think it would be very helpful for myself and others, especially first time TLO users. Thanks!
