If a product that says it's organic doesn't have the OMNI seal does it mean its not true organic?

The definition of organics is a battlefield to be sure. OMRI is a good guide to go by, and if it's missing that certification then it's a good time to be suspicious.

OMRI certs are a good thing, but there are a lot of good 100% organic nutes and amendments out there that don't have the stamp...All Natural, 100% Natural, or 100% Organic listed gear should be all good. If suspicious, read the ingredients....anything that says chilated anything is no good....they will contain chilated salts to help force the plant to uptake the nutes.

The OMRI certs cost a good penny to obtain, so a lot of smaller companies can't afford to get it.

Hope that helps Dude!

Peace

went to a class awhile back given by the owner of my organic nute line. we talked about omri (their products are not omri). he said omri would cost them between $10,000 and $20,000 the first year and then more then 1/2 of that every year - they are not that big and I don't want their prices to go way up

I have never seen any sort of certification like this that isn't a "money grab".

Its like Underwriters Laboratory they take and test a product and if it lives up to the standards by UL then it gets its stamp of approval and ORMI is like the same thing. When you first setup up the testing like most places they charge more because there is more paperwork and setting up the account etc... etc... each year after that they test the samples again and because they are not setting up the accounts and such it costs less.

It helps us newbies who do not what the right products are which way to go.
