Try scuffing seed with nail file, also put a 1/4 of a soluble/dispersable aspirin in a cup of water and soak seed until it sinks, then add this water to a paper towel and put seed in towel until hatching. Aspirin had a growth hormone in it. There is a study about increased germination rates with aspirin on line somewhere.

Cut up an Emery board (for nails) and put with seeds in a matchbox or small sealable tub and shake
Even mull with fingers a little

Old TmingMan was posting on another forum he germinated 40 year old seeds using the following quoted method. Unfortunately he stopped posting over a year ago so this is all I have about it.

“ Old TimingMan

I wish there was a easier way but so far my best luck has been scuffing them in a sandpaper tube, letting them set in a H2O2 bath for an hour while plunking them down every 15 minutes, and then using the GA3 at a rate of 500 PPM in distilled water with temps at the 80 degree mark from soak to sprout.”

GA3 is Gibberellic acid.

Now you are spoiled for choice, or do a few of each and give us some feedback! Would be good. I have done my aspirin on seeds that don't want to pop.

Where did you get this stuff? I might end up buying some. I put about 250 bucks worth of seeds in my freezer as I figured it would make them last longer but now I am having issues getting them to pop.
