I'm hittin the books hard for the next 6 months or so to get a greater knowledge for my next guerilla in the spring!!! Been looking into the super soils and am very interested in them. I recently found out that I have an abundance of horse manure that has been dumped at the end of my dead end road by a farm and has been sittin there composting for a few years. Anyone see as to why I shouldn't use this as my compost this coming spring? Took a shovel to a spot and found nightcrawlers so some life is there. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance, toke on brethren!!!

Well composted horse manure is fine to use. Horses don't digest weed seeds, so you'll probably get some weeds growing out of your mix next year. A mulch using something like grass clippings will keep the weeds down and help retain moisture.

I cook fresh cow manure in a thirty gallon garbage can. Adding lime and old potting soil.it gets to about 140 f.
And done when temp drops below 100. Test with males before using.if it doesn't kill the boys.your girls will be fine

Thanks guys, I'm thinking about adding some to a super soil mix come spring.not shooting for a hell of a lot but enough to hold me over for the long winter months would be amazing!!
