Indoor OK, I'm in... Pyramid NYC, World of Seeds NL X BB, Fast Buds GSC

Hey @qwezdan1

Cant help but smile every time I see your coffee avatar. Drinking some fresh roasted Panama Lerida Estate that's about 3 hours old at the moment and its just smooth as butter out of a Vacuum Pot.

I will probably run them pretty hard right up to the last moment of chop. I might make adjustments on the fly depending on what the plants look like but I don't personally think there is any need to let up. It might mean a little more time in the dry and cure phase to get them right but my theory is that they should be at their most potent if run hard through the end. The next run I think I can get a better blend on my soils which should give me a chance to see better growth. Fabric pots are next up. there is no way I could grow more than what's in the tent right now and I had originally planned to just run 3 until the panic attack over the start of the cookies. Now that I have some additional lighting I am going to set my cabinet up and start using it to veg for the first 30 days or so to get a little higher output of the system. I can move them into this tent when the start to flower or as space allows. Next up is going to be some Northern Lights and probably the last cookie seed. After that who knows. I am really looking for a couple of seed recommendations but want to do some Mephisto to see what all the hype is about.

Speaking of which. Anyone got a seed recommendation that will make me feel like this?

I have grown a a lot of different mephisto strains. If you are looking for a producer HBSS with a 90'S cutting of bubblegum from the most prestigious and copied seed bank in the world serious seeds. It is amazing pot HBSS. Anything with white in it or CRINKLE will blow your mind. I have found out from growing out so many of them mephisto Genetics that they are one of the best auto flower companies going. That being said dina fem Dutch passion have done some nice collaborations you could look at them. I also love auto Colorado cookies from dutch passion wicked weed. Then there is BIG Buddha blue cheese auto not a heavy producer but I recommend that everyone try that before there time is done. Lets hope too that Mephisto makes double grape seed available when ever needed it is amazing so there is a few choices I hope this helps you a bit

Time to get the old cut and paste notepad out. I want to try and target my next seed purchase to something more focused. So far I have, like every gardener regardless of crop, fallen prey to the hype and marketing that is rampant in the green industry. Talking to those that have gone ahead is really the fast track to success. I don't want to have to grow a lot of plants, I want the plants I grow to hit like a ton of bricks. Sitting around for a half hour and smoking to get there just doesn't appeal to me. I must be getting old...

Just keep plugging along. I'm really hoping for a successful run with these cobs and so far they look phenomenal.

Personally I think dinafem has the largest producers of all breeders I have come across. The xxl strains can hit 1/2 lb in 80 days. Gsc seems to have way to many phenotypes. Some short and fat and some tall and skinny. Definitely potent just unreliable. Mephisto seems to have the highest quality of all breeders. One guy here posted pics with more frost on fan leaves then most plants have total. Either way you genetics are just a piece of the pie.

Not sure if I mentioned to you or not but it's best to hold off on bloom nutrients till the plants stop stretching. Then a gradual transition and right into full flower. If given bloom nutrients to soon they will trigger the plants to stop growing and start producing. I could never figure out why my first crops were so small but fat till a member here told me about it. Since I have pulled some serious weight and grown some 4x4 6 footers. I don't know why it's not mentioned anywhere in any forum or guide but I have seen first hand the difference.

I missed the turn on the Fert but have done something that is would probably be considered intermediary. I start to blend my ferts out from differing containers to get a witches brew of sorts. I try and transition from 0 to about 80% bloom fertilizer over a period of 3 weeks. right now I am probably around 60% grow and 40% bloom, with some citric acid added to drop my pH a bit more. I think I have been drifting a little bit higher than I want so I have been trying a gentle adjustment. Working with litmus paper at the moment so it can be a bit of a guessing game. I guess I have not mentioned of late but I am using Dynagrow 9-3-6 for my growth period and 3-12-6 for the Bloom phase. I will most likely continue to add some level of the growth formulation throughout the entire range as I feel it will help to build bud throughout the grow. Probably will just use straight bloom during what most people would call the flushing phase. That will shut down the amount of Nitrogen in the system during the last 7 to 10 days.

I think the NLxBB is going to finish fast but I think the NYC will run an extra 10 days longer and the GSW I am now thinking will extend out to 85 days or more. So I have to start planning to get my old cabinet up and running with the blurples and use it for starting seedlings and growing the veg phase for the next run. This could give me a nice turn around period for the tent and allow me to shut down when the warm season starts up again. I just don't want to get to the 4th of July only to find that my pantry looks like Old mother Hubbards. This dog wants his bone.

I think most people get weak when at the online seed bank. I'd say stick to mephisto. Direct from then too if possible. They do add in plenty of free seeds and also have an autoflower discount. While the dinafem I grew were out of control the intensity was a little weaker then the mephisto. 2 hits vs 1 but with twice the yield. Hobby auto growers tend to experiment and in the end kill the potential of each strain they try. It takes a few grows minimum to perfect a strain so trying 13 different strains every month on a perpetual grow isn't ideal. That's another's thing you can do is set up some veg plants when your getting near the end. Keep things rocking.

So I see enough change to warrant an update. It is 35 days since I soaked beans and I am starting to feel like it may turn out to be worth the effort. Still not sure how things will finish but I seem to be working through the bumps and grinds. Dropped my pH a bit too low and started seeing some angry leaves but a couple of foliar feedings coupled with straight aged tap water which averages around 7.3 has seemed to start to show results. Still feeding predominantly pro foliage with a small amount of epsom salt and Bloom formulation. They definitely want to flower but I am trying to get as much bulk on them as I can before I let them run wild. So on to the girls.

Next up, FastBuds Girl Scout Cookies. I have beat the hell out of them but they seem to like it. Masochists...

And of course my safety bean. She is 5 days behind. So Happy thirty bitch.

And the biggest of them, World of Seeds Northern Lights X Big Bud. She seems to have a mind of her own. Mag and calcium have been a challenge with this one.

Still think I might get a taste of a bud at Christmas from her. Been several months so I am pretty jazzed about that. Merry xmas to me!

I have jettisoned the humidifier to the outside of the tent due to space concerns. The fourth bean proved to be a space concern. Here is how it looks now.

And as always, thanks for checking it out. Anything you see that can be done better is always appreciated. I only want strong vibrant potent women in my life. It's worked for me thus far...

They look great. Nice and healthy and no deficiencies. Your gonna be very surprised once they take off and that's right around the corner. It's good to see guys train their plants too. No 6' tall single colas.

Thanks SmO. I can always rely on a kind word of encouragement from you and a couple of other old timers here.

I wouldn't mind 15 6ft kolas like what all your plants are. Not thinking that is gonna happen too soon. One day closer to buds.

Super healthy looking gals there! I've just recently noticed that I've burned about 10 girls (out of 70 but still) and that kinda upsets me aesthetically. NLxBB is something I'd consider for my gardens and will be looking closely how long will it take for her to mature and what she's gonna be like in terms of yield and potency (anything crossed with BB usually lacks the kick in my experience). So don't forget to make a quick smoke report in the end :pass:

Something that's helped me out big time with growing is forgetting about the dates. I used to stress so bad over plant size and which day it was. If autos are done right a date doesn't matter and if they are messed up dates still don't matter. They finish when they are ready no matter what the calendar says. My last 30 seeds are the same exact strain. I have had crops finish at day 80 and I have 2 now that are day 110. If they make it that long it just means something went wrong. Not the place for advice but I did see you mention size vs dates.

Don't worry if it's time for an update either lol. Send as many pictures as you want. It's nice to follow along with plenty of updates.

@qwezdan1

If you are in production you cant help but expect that there are going to be casualties. I wish I could go that big. I am betting they still look pretty damned nice. BTW. What are you growing?

The NLxBB was a freebie from the last order and it was either pop one of them or another Northern Lights. I grew the Northern Lights last year (love it!) so I thought I would try something different for the first run of the season. Gonna go 2 NL's and my last GSC in the next cycle. I had intended to only grow three per run in my 2x4 but the lack of movement from my first GSC caused me to drop a second. And that is how I got here. Actually, to me, the second one was a tosser and I have been tormenting it and I think I like where it is headed. Might go the same route on the last one.

I was hoping to get some other seed in the start of the new year but I am still trying to formulate what I want to grow. I love Sativa's for that soaring energetic high. And since I am growing for myself I just have to keep looking and reading on what cultivars show that trait in their best light. I suspect that anything will blow my head off since it has been Late June since I smoked. Every day I am like a kid in the back of the car asking 'are we there yet?' Kinda pathetic at my age.

And on a side note, still drinking that Panama Lerida Estate coffee beans. That Behmor Roaster was one of the best purchases I have ever made. Next up is some Kenyan AA microlot. It is the holidays, so why not spoil myself.
