Indoor Ok guys, help me out. MI5 or Russian rocket fuel?

Males usually show first, around 18 - 21 days but the flowers won't start to open for a couple more weeks. I would get them away from the girls before they start to open, say around week 4. I usually just put mine on the window sill. Outside would also be good as long as there are no other females outdoors that you don't want pollinated. Wind and insects can also transmit pollen. Even a small male will give more than enough pollen.

Thanks Muddy! Thats good news. I will just put my male in the window and let it sit there and wait for his bride. Then let the bride sit there for 24 hours and then back in my room.

Ok, then i think i got all the information a need to make this work.

Will let you guys know how im doing along the way. I think i will plant my seeds next weekend.

Thanks a million guys for all the info.

You truly are amazing.

Love Justin

Just letting sit next to each other for a day might not be enough to transfer sufficient pollen. If you're going to pollinate the whole plant I would actually take the male and use it to physically dust the female. If you only want to pollinate a branch or two, then capture the pollen and use a small brush or a Q tip to dab the pollen onto the female flowers. One branch will usually product about 60 - 100 seeds. A whole plant can produce 1,000 or more.

Ok, so i planted 10 mi5 and 8 are now on day 15 and looking good.

Is it to soon for them to show sex? Because i think i see 5 females and 3 males. Or am i just dreaming/hoping? hehe

What would happen if i just let 1 male stay with my, hopefully, 5 females? Whit no fan blowing.

I really dont have any extra room to put my males and the weahter outside is beyond shite. 15c and rain, rain, rain and some rain..

Peace Justin

Sometimes they show sex a little earlier. In my experience the bigger plants in early veg usually turn out to be the males. They are usually the first to show sex as well.

I would still suggest you go with a controlled pollination as I previously outlines. Once the males start to flower they can survive just about anywhere. Yes, they won't get very big but even a 8 or 10" male will still produce more than enough pollen. Remember that when a plant is pollinated it's energy goes into producing seeds, not buds. If you let it pollinate randomly you are likely to get more seeds than you could ever grow before they lose their viability and your yields would be lower. Again, I'd recommend you just do a couple branches.

Sure thing kind sir, i will follow your advice.

1 more question.... if i get 2 or 3 phenothypes in my females, and if i pollinate lower branches on all 3 with 1 male will i get different kind of seeds or is it better to just pollinate 1 lady?

Yes, if you pollinate different phenos your seeds will be different. When I pollinate I look for a male and female that have the characteristics I find desirable. I generally look for single cola plants with a few side branches as they tend to work best in my small grow areas. Bush type phenos take up too much room for me. I also look for good height and vigor. I generally try to avoid any plant that flowers late. I understand the plants are still young and you don't yet know how they will finish. So maybe pick a couple likely candidates and pollinate a branch on each.

Thanks for all the help Muddy. I will let you know how i´m doing along the way.

You are really nice.

Ok, so today is day 19 and ive got 6 females and 2 males confirmed.

The exakt score i was hoping for to be honest, happy feeling.

Gonna re-pot today. The males will go in to 3liters air-pots, and the females are right now in 1liters air-pot and i will put thoose directly in to 6-liters air pots whitout removing the the small pots.

Ive heard good things abput the pot in pot style and think the air pots is perfect for a try :)
