I'm starting to see some drying of leaf tips and edges on my Auto Magnum. Could T5 HO tubes cause leaf burn ? I had the lights very close, 1 - 2 inches away. I also have a fan that mimics an ocean breeze on them. The other plants look ok except for one leaf tip; Thx again for any input;

I'd say any light only a couple inches away would cause a little burn/singe. Fan is always a plus to keep good air flow, other than that they look good!

thanks I didnt know if it was panic time

I've use t5ho 24/0 for three weeks on all my plants...keep it 1-2 inches away from top foliage. Never have any burn whatsoever. I'd suggest a lil nute burn or over watering is more likely.

could underwatering do it ? Ive been very careful with the watering and only fed them twice with a .25 ml per gallon on aero garden liquid nutes .. It's very weak. I have been using distilled water. Could this be a deficiency ?

You haven't mentioned your medium. I still suggest nute burn but it's seems very mild at this point...... Careful watering is a good thing as plants handle droughts better than floods.
Personally, I use only DI for 3 weeks...never had any issue as long as I ignore them enough...I only water when moisture meter say to. After a few grows, you will be more able to read what the plants tell you. AFN has enough info to help along the way.
Growing weed is easy as long as you have the patience to watch more than the urge to push the rope.

ok i think you are having some issues. are you ph'ing? what soil are you in?
some leaves are showing their spines - different coloration in the center vs the edges, that could be caused by different things but you need to give us some input. also many of your other leaves look rather thick, a little dry* - not really dry but harsh/hard. the fact they are curling down vs up makes me think there is something wrong with them.

can you copy/paste the infirmary form to give us all the details for feeding, ph, temps, lights, etc.

It looks like your pH is too low to me, probably around 5.5-6.0 since it's still taking up more than enough nitrogen but not enough magnesium. I figure with the pH issue showing the magnesium is just being locked out.

If you think the wind burn marking is related to the one above, then you might need to be a bit more careful when watering, but really I'm pretty sure most of your issues here are from a low pH.

I checked my soil ph with a cheap 3 in 1 meter and it read very low. I have a water ph meter on the way. This plant was the closest one to the fan which seems strong even on it lowest setting.

Then it looks like we're on track. When you adjust the pH the plant will do a better job of taking in that nitrogen as well so make sure you lower that.

As far as your original concern about lights being too close. T5s are fine to get close like that as long as you have temps in check and proper air flow, a quick test with the back of your hand will be a good indicator if the T5s are too close.
