Do you have anything fermenting down there in that Coco? They could be too drunk to make it up to your plant [emoji5][emoji16][emoji846][emoji848]

There is some bo kashi bran I bubbled for 60+ hours before watering it in lol

I THINK they are fungus gnat larvae mate. Probably wrong though as usually am.

I have had them once in soil with a Stilton plant.

Do they come alive and start jumping when you water? Thats what mine did and thats why I noticed them! Haha. Thought they were root tips until I saw them moving around.

If they are fungus gnat larvae, I'm told they are basically harmless as they just eat dead root matter

Fungus gnat larvae I do believe my man. I did not see but bio tab answered the question my man. I do believe he is spot on.

:smoking: hey Ice'! .... I think those are spring tails too,...the color, shape, their reactions, where they are,... Thrips don't hang around the soil surface like that,.. adults and larvae are on the plant feeding, only during a sort of pupation stage do thrips enter the soil, and don't feed during this metamorphosis,.... thrips don't like to leave either! I get them outside every time, it's automatic,.. they will literally dodge you as you look for them on the plant! ... they can jump/bail when pressed,.. adults can fly plenty well,....
Springy's are detritus munchers, no real threat just annoying,.. probably under the pots too, so look around and start a little clean-up; most any garden safe bug spray will do... Azamax, spinosad, etc., just spray and wipe the pots, spray the surface of the coco.... diatomaceous earth will help with surface stragglers, but it's effectiveness window is short; after a watering or two, it gets caked down and scattered,... :amazon:
