Update:

Feeding #2 today. Raised the ppms to 400 for both. Too early to tell if its doing much as the soil itself is good, organic soil, and most of the plants are close to uniform in size. One H&G plant is a bit smaller, but I'm assuming that's genetic.

Update!
The H&G plant ( I'll call then 1 and 2 ) 1 at the top left in the pic, has grown to be an 1" taller than the rest just since this morning!

Hey Blue!
How's that nute test coming?

Bring it on Pops - I'm down for some Cheap Vs "Tailored" nute comparrisons. I'm trying an organic tomato feed test on an outdoor guinea pig (a plant ... not a real guinea pig!)

SAying cheap .. the bottle cost nearly a tenner! lol could have bought canna A&B for that! Oh well - it stinks to high heaven so must be good! :)

Update:

H&G plant 1 is the biggest plant in the tent! BUT.....is it the nutes or genetics? H&G plant 2 is one of the smallest in the tent ( of the same strain and age ) If you look across the canopy, so far, the mineral nutes have not shown growth that exceeds the organic plants by enough to even notice. and those plants are directly under the light, so I expected that to be an advantage.

I know we are really just getting started, but so far, I'm not impressed!

Sure looks like there ain't much difference so far.... Anyways, I'll join in this fun soon, I happily and merrily filled a large trolley with nutes a few days ago....... At my favorite garden center in Germany, it was 40 % off nutes, Epsom salt, bone meal, dolomite and what not..... Amongst others threw a couple of bottles with conifer nutes in the trolley, the NPK reads 4-6-8 plus a smattering of micro this and macro that...... Just like canna nutes, made me feel right at home..........I'll give that a go!

Great! The more data we have the better!

Update:
Mixed a fresh batch of nutes. Each is ppm'd to 440-450 including about 80 ppms of cal mag. Interesting note, the bontanicare Cal/Mag drops the ph from 7.1 to 4.8!! ph'd to 6.8, the H&G nutes dropped ph back to 5.4. The cheap nutes dropped ph from 6.8 to 5.88. I ph'd both solutions to 6.6.
I gave each plant 400ml of nutrient water. Let's see how they look in a few days!

Also was going to switch the timer to 12/12, but I'm giving them another week before I flip them. Hoping to find another auto before I go to 12/12.

SOG

The H&G plant 1 continues to be the tallest, but not by much, maybe 3/4". The other H&G plant is still pretty much one of the shortest, slightly below the average organic plant. the other is slightly taller than average, but by very little. Either my organic mix is real good or these nutes are bullshit........ at least that's the way its starting to look like to me!

And yes, that second picture sucks...lol!

Switch the light to 12/12, plants are getting big and can't let them get taller before stretch! The tallest, the H&G plant 1, is 15", the average is 12". The only plant feed nutes that at all taller/bigger than the organic plants is that one.

Starting to look like a good promo for organics!
