New Grower Northern Lights Auto Flower Grow

Day 6

Currently...
85 Degrees
66% Humidity

The temps did get up to 99 degrees inside this morning, I forgot to turn the fan on last night so the lights turned on @ 4am and baked the room.

I did not water today yet and probably wont need to - last water was yesterday morning.

Deep green leafs, no yellowing, no spots, leafs do not appear to be doing anything that would indicate something is wrong.

The 2nd image is showing a new set of leafs coming in but that new set of leafs looks deformed. Did I screw something up or will the leaf straighten out with time?

Question - The light started out 24in above the top of the soil. Now that the plant is 1.5in tall the light is now only 22.5in away from the top of the plant.

Do I need to adjust to get it back to 24in or do I just leave the plant grow up and leave the light as is?

all looks well  you could adjust it 0.5cm a day or wait till the weekend and have another think about it then :pass:
:pighug:

Thanks @archie gemmill

Any rules when it comes adjusting lights?

At this point, all I know is to start the lights @ 24in and then when im in flower lower it to 12in for LEDs

I had planned on just leaving the lights as is... Yes the plant is growing up, but I also plan on LSTing the plant which would bring the top of the plant down a bit when I bend the branch.

Should I adjust the light just cuz or should I wait for the plant to tell me the light is to far/to close?
If I should wait for the plant to tell me, what are some things im looking for in the plant?

my take on the soil going by instructions 20 of 30 gal finest potting mix-that usualy means next to no nutes, greater water retension would come from the 8-10 gals of coco, great for holding water.
my bottled nutes semi organic biobizz,,,,but can it be truely organic as it comes outa a bottle ? as soon as i add calmag-organic is out the window.
wait for the plant to tell you.
light too far
mazar day 58.JPG
big big gap between (nodes) each set of branches
light too close

mega squat close nodes
not the best examples but you get the idea.keep posting someone will keep you right.jump into live stoners or @ me.
good luck n keep er lit.

Cool - thanks for the example pics.

The pics do not show distance all that well though.

So... what is the gap between the nodes in the 2 images you attached?

3-4 inches between nodes in the first image and what a half inch to an inch between the nodes in the bottom image or?

The pic of the light to far is a good pic though.. It shows me what a plant looks like w/ no LST - straight up and each node up the bud site is a little bit bigger than the site below it.

I see 7 or 8 nodes ya? each node would be a bud site but on your tall plant, the bottom 6 nodes are popcorn buds.

If you would have bent the branch then the node below would have gotten more light and the bud site would have been bigger ya?

question -

inside temps are hovering around 85 degrees consistently which is a tad high but someone said not high enough to worry about anything besides bugs.

however, when the outside temp gets above 100 like it will be over the next week the grow room gets. a little bit hotter.

So...

I have a intake fan + carbon filter + 8 ft hose I can set up and blow the hot air out the window. this will take time though and I bought all this to set up later if the plant gets stinky so I would prefer not to set this up to help with heat.

Another option is to put a shot glass inside the humidity dome and then a couple of ice cubes in the shot glass. This seems to lower the temp to the 78-79 range but only keeps in that range for about 15min since the ice melts. Humidity spikes to the 75% range w/ the ice cubes.

Ice cubes in shot glass is not ideal since I need to replace the ice every 15min but I work from home and this only needs to be done for a couple hours in the afternoon each day, also the heat wave is only supposed to last a couple more days.

So.... if I continue w/ this ice cube method, will I break the plant in anyway?

Are you referring to OP’s soil? If so what its referring to is the bag itself is 30 gallons but it’s only filled up with 20 gallons of soil in total.
