Indoor Noob Alert!!!! Am I ok here???

$150......50% + efficiency and more light than you've ever seen! The Quantum board is THE next level in grow lights! I'll be doing a grow soon, with just one board, just to see what it can do. I have no doubt there is no other light that comes close to it.

Pop, where are these lights sold? Do you know if there are any drawbacks or cut corners with these lights? For such an inexpensive price, I'm curious to know where the "aha, gotcha" factor gonna hit customers? We all know that the most expensive can create heartbreaks since a lot of money was spent and the item underperformed and the cheaper brand will leave you cussing and fussing cause you thought you were catching a break and all hell broke loose... LOL

If they marketed it, it would DESTROY the Chinese light market, and a few U.S. dealers too! But that's not their market. No gottchas I can see. Simple, well made design, Meanwell drivers, custom designed heatsink, they even toss in wire, wire connectors and hangers!

I am a bit sad gents. I lost one today. I had to put down one of my ladies! Not sure if I did this prematurely, but please give me your feedback. Basically, the lil lady was not actively doing anything (pre-transplant and post) . After the second set of leaves started growing, she started stalling. I monitored for a few days, but nothing was happening. I transplanted from the small grow medium to a 3qtr pot. Before the transfer, I had knocked the small grow medium over a few times and all the contents almost completely came out. I was able to get the soil and plant back in and settled. After the transplant, the plant seemed to be ok. I finally acquired a set of 300w lights and when I put it on the plants, it seemed to perk up. Yesterday, it started drooping and showed signs of yellow in the beginning leaves. Today was more. The plant was non-progressive... So I pulled her. The stem had a dark tint to it as well. Do you believe it was root rot? I probably watered to much in the small grow medium, though it was drying out daily. The pictures are as of today, day 11

Hey...great to meet you!! After reading your thread i thought i should point out that pop22 and bigsmo are both master indoor growers, and could probably get 1 gram per watt using old tech leds. It may take some time, but you will get there!!!
I decided to go with cheap old tech epistar leds, and i am happy with results vs cost (.7 gpw). Definitely grab a high end light if you can afford to, but know that old tech will also work just fine too.
Sorry for your loss!!

First.. welcome to our little island. Sorry about your loss but it does happen. I was you about 3 or 4 years ago. Made about every mistake one can make and man have they paid off. I started with a 400w hps and 4 mystery beans that turned out to be autos. A variety I had never heard of before. I couldnt believe it when my girls started budding at 4 weeks under 18 hrs of light. Of course I stunted the hell out of them, over fertilized them. Every grow something went a little wrong. Honestly it was a blast to learn. I watched youtube videos of these amazing rooms. With multiple lights, CO2, controllers, regulators, heat/ac. And there I was with my $400 room build. Dreaming. I cobbed together a frame for my garden from old bed frames I had. Purchased used equipment and reached out to folks here. My room was cheap but it worked. However I am about 1 week away from ripping it all down. I finally have my finale piece coming. One that I should have bought from the start. On the way is my new tent.

A gorilla grow heavy duty (avoid their "Lite" line) 5x5 tent.--> seriously an instant room wish I had done this at the start.
Fluence SpydrX Plus Light---LOVE THIS LIGHT. I know the debate is real & intense but Fluence is a great company and my yields went up 30% and energy costs down $80/month from $250 to $170/month. has a 4x4 footprint that I grow 4-5 Beats a grow under.
Coco soiless mix with a hefty amount of Dolomite Lime mixed in to ph the soil. I suffered three bad to less than par grows because my soil ph was 4 regardless of what the ph of the water I put in. The dolomite (purchased at lowes) fixed that.
I used to use general hydroponics organic nutes but I heard Halliburton bought the company so I'll be getting a new variety.
4 fans circulating the ladies when the lights are on
CO2 with a titan regulator
10 gal smart pots

In essence man... you are going to fail miserably at times and succeed incredibly at times. It's a journey and one that is a freaking blast! Remember that photo plants and autos while both are sweet MaryJane they require vast differences in growing.
Smoke up!!

That's a lot of good info to take in. Thank you for sharing your story and your words of wisdom. I currently still have one lil lady alive (SSH). She is looking rather good. So I'll be looking after her like a proud poppa over his baby girl. I have a new lil lady that is currently germinating (Purp. Haze). It is moving along as it should. Popped in like 36hrs and is in a mix of coco coir and ocean farm. I will say that the soil I have my SSH in did have a rather high pH. I tried getting it down, but it wouldn't lower no matter how much pH down I'd mix into the soil. I'll go pick up the Dolomite Lime and mix it when I transplant into my 5gal air pot. I should be doing that by the end of the week. Thank you all for the wealth of knowledge!

Heeeeeeellllllp!!!! I'm a bit perplexed at this moment with how things have gone over the last week. I'm hoping it's not to late to save my last standing plant. Please someone shed some light and tell me that I'm not to late! Bottom line is, my plant is showing signs of either one or all: distress, nute lockout, nute burn, root rot, not enough humidity, etc... I don't know what to think or what to do next. I flushed the plant with Clearex last night. Again, these problems started being noticed I believe on Wednesday (4 Jan). The 1st thing noticed was leaves curling up (like a taco) and some dryness on the serrated points of the leaves. I had been dealing with humidity issues and a little on the high heat side (between 79 and 82). I, however would look over my plant numerous times a day, spraying down with R.O. water at least 3 - 4 times a day. I also raised my lights to 12" (had them between 8 and 10").

After re-potting (3 Jan), I didn't add anything to the soil (being that the soil was already watered down with R.O. and nutes). On 5 Jan, soil was drying out so I added nutes, but I believe I got a false reading from my soil pH level (almost an 8) and had pH'd my nutes down to 5.4. After this, I noticed it perked up for a good part of the day. The new leaves developing were looking healthy. Between later that day and the 6th, those leaves begin to curl up and the serrated tips started to turn yellow-brown (early burn look). Doesn't seem as if it's progressing at this moment. I added a humidifier to my grow tent last night to kick up the humidity. It added another 2 degrees to the tent so the temp is now about 84. Humidity has rose to between 40 and 43. I ordered a cool mist humidifier that should be in today.

CORRECTION:
Actually, the soil was watered with R.O. Water, Liquid Seaweed, 2 tsp molasses, and light nutes (1/8 tsp starter nutes) pH'd to 6.3. Btw... What is the best soil meter to use? I bought a 3 in 1 soil meter, but this is the one that gave me a faulty reading on my soil. After rinsing with the Clearex, the run-off read a pH of 4.65. The soil reader kept teling me that my soil was about an 8.

Please tell me it's not to late and she can be saved. She is only 20 days old from 1st full sprout. I put in a lot of work for these 20 days... :-( Thanks!
