Seen in posts where you bake rice (to get all moisture out) and put it in with your pollen in a container. Guess after that in fridge.
Old silica packages may not have any ability to absorb moisture left. I think you are better off using rice unless you have new silica or are able to recharge it. My trouble with the little packages is that I do not know for sure what the dessicant is, so there is no way to be certain how best to dry it out.cool thanks bill. I saved some silica packages from medicine bottles i think that might work also .
Yea I didnt think so either rycbar. I spray it with 240 ppm CS , sprayed everyday... I'm gonna keep trying until i figure this process out. Is there a good way to store pollen if I get any ?

If you want to store pollen for longer periods, bone dry and frozen is your best bet. When you harvest your balls, dry them well, grind them in a weed grinder, sift the ground mix with a fine screen (the screen from a coffee maker filter worked for me - the pollen separator in a 4 part grinder works for some peeps), put the sifted pollen mix in with freshly dried rice in a small jar, seal it, and put in the freezer. When you take it out to use it, leave the jar sealed until it is completely warmed to room temperature. Overnight is a good idea. If you open it cold, condensation could bugger your pollen.
Good luck with it.
I pollinated a few lowers and thought I would get 30-40 seeds, ended up with over 100 good looking seeds.More happy beans!! I Bet I have around 40 or so after harvest. Fingers crossed
