Just read this on the internet what's the consensus on this here?

"Pro-Mix is one of the few growing mediums that do not require cal/mag to be added even if using RO water. It contains dolomite lime that breaks down to calcium and magnesium, one less thing for commercial greenhouse growers to add to thier RO water."

lol, consensus is: "my next soil grow will be pro-mix."

I've been using it so if i can save myself a couple bucks I'd love too.

I would assume it's true, it's a highly trusted brand and I plan on using BX line for my next soil grow, at the very least, your plants leaves will tell you if you ever do need to supplement more, so with that in mind, grow with it and always have a cal/mag supplement regardless, you never know though as you may make an accident and water with ph-off water or a higher dose of a chem that causes cal/mag lockout/deficiencies. "Better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it." - is even more highly regarded for marijuana cultivation as I have learned.

While that may be true for most plants, it's not the case when using Pro Mix to grow weed. It's somewhat strain dependent but you will still have need to keep some cal/mag on hand just in case. I find that about 25% of my plants still require some additional cal/mag. If there is a deficiency it usually shows up somewhere around week 5 or 6.

Here here Muddy...i also use promix and have implemented cal/mag into every grow ESPECIALLY if using RO water (i use RO the first few weeks of the plants life) Keeps my plants nice and green.

I agree Spels, pretty much a necessity with RO water no matter what grow medium is being used.

Isn't there also something about using LED's and the plant needing some cal/mag because of the type of lighting?

I may be wrong about that though..

Yes, using LEDs does seem to require more cal/mag. Don't exactly know why, probably because they are so much more efficient compared to other lights that they use it up faster.
