Nitro toxic?

You may have to feed a lot more. With straight Coco you feed every time. Never just water. I don't know what's in Pro-Mix. Did you check the bag to see how much Coco was already in it ? You might be 75% Coco by now ??? With that much Coco in your mix you have to add a lot more Cal-Mag or you'll get those spots. Coco uses a lot of it. I would probably feed more like Coco than the Feed, Water, Water with soil. I'd feed 1 ltr. per plant per day & if they need more...up it. Try adding a little extra Cal Mag your next 3 - 4 waterings / feedings & your spots will go away. Been there.

Thanks for the tips man, I'll def up the calmag a bit, don't know about the water every day though...guess I'll have to find out what was in that promix

Hi there @Lungren :pass:

Nice grow so far. You have yourself a case of Calcium def by the looks of it. Don't get too down about it, all us coco growers have seen it :rolleyes1:

Might I ask which of the promix soils you're using? They're not all the same. Nor I believe, do any of them contain coco. Mostly a varying mix of Peat Moss, Humus, Gypsum, Limestone, Mycorrhizae and presumably some form of fert although it's not listed. Seems like good stuff to be honest.

50/50 mixes like this make it a little more difficult in my opinion but I would listen to your plants regarding feed frequency, If they're light, feed em, if they're heavy, don't! There's no set rules and everyone's environment is different.

First question is how much cal-mag are you giving them? You should probably be looking to about 2ml per litre if it were straight coco but that can probably come down a touch given the presence of Gypsum (basically just organically sourced calcium) in the mix, assuming there's enough in there.

I might also suggest that your PH should increase a bit. You're bang on the money for coco, but too low for soil. If they PH is too low, it won't be able to do anything with the calcium regardless of how much you feed her. Anything below 6.0 is lockout land and it won't be able to take in phosphorus, calcium or magnesium.

Whilst we're at it, you might want to check the PPMs if you can. If you've not got a pen, get one! They're cheap. If they're too high you can also get a lock out, but PH is the most likely culprit for lock out given what you've said.

As others have mentioned, with the mix you've gone for, you should probably treat her more like coco and be giving low feeds every time, she doesn't need water as the mix isn't going to be rich enough to give much food to the plant. Go low though and just keep increasing it until you see a little burn then back off again.

It's relatively easily fixed and you've caught it in time. If it makes you feel any better I've just lost a plant to similar troubles.

Happy growing! :growing:

By the size of the plants in the pics I'd say a ltr. would be about perfect since you're in Air Pots. `Naturally, temps & humidity will play a role in how often you'll need to water. Those plants look pretty healthy other than the cal mag def.

Damn that's quite the write-up, thx for making me feel a bit better, and sorry about your lost lady!
It was the whit bag of promix with michoriza in it, I'll up the poms a bit, my cheap meter is off by 220 with the 1000 calibration solution...with no way to adjust it, but last feed at full strength read 725 so I'm guessing around 1k

And I gave 2.5ml per gallon of calmend by Dutch nutrients, was told by a friend earlier that I had overfed and shouldn't feed anything for a bit, so I cut it out for 2 weeks about 2 weeks ago, this was before i learned i should nvr give coco just plain water

And no tip burns yet from the feed last night (A+B bloom PH perfect sensi coco, B52, Voodoo Juice, Big Bud,Bud candy,Bud factor X and Sensizym), but I don't want to feed them full str all the time, AN shit ain't cheap

Just keep doing what you're doing now & you wont get any more brown spots. The ones you have now will not go away but you wont get new ones. Your plants are looking great !!!

Sounds about right for the feed. I've not come across the DN line before but that still sounds a little low to me for cal-mag. Most coco users will be looking at about 2ml per litre.
PPMs sound about right and the plants look good to me. Looks like you'll be fine from now on.

No, you shouldn't be feeding full strength. Autos usually don't like it and the addition of the soil will be providing some nutrition anyway. 50-70% would probably suffice, but the plants will be quick to let you know.

AN is very expensive and you won't see much love for them around here. There are much cheaper out there that do just as good, if not better. Lots of people are into Mega Crop, I've not used it but seen great results and it's very affordable. General Hydro are pretty good too but require some additions at flower.

Your plants are looking great, I wouldnt lose too much sleep over it, you'll be fine, keep it up!

Thanks for the reply man! Ya the DN calmend just says for first time use add 2.5ml per gallon, nothing about adding on daily basis, couldn't find anything online either

Maybe I'll look into some other nutes for when these all run out

They usually advise too high a feed on the bottles, not the case with cal mag though, often the ratios advised are for soil. I'm running 2 x the recommended dose. As you have soil in the mix though I think you're probably fine.

I would definitely recommend switching nutes once they're done. I'm really liking Shogun at the moment.

Happy growing!
