Dutch Passion (Nieuw) Dutch Passion ORANGE HILL SPECIAL Grow Journal

Orange Update; 39 days;

Firing on all branches,........will be switching 12/12 tomorrow at day 40. Thats 6 weeks veg from wetting beans. so 5 weeks if you count from seedling stage. All fully sexed now, throwing pistilate all over.
Upping (Nute) Ec by 0.125, and will feed veg nute for 3wks from 12/12, these are large fruit strains, and need the N in early stages of fruitification.
Still running 18,000/21,000 Lux at canopy, temps upto 28.5c Low 22c.RH 45-48% 18/6. Upping Ph (Potenz of Hydrogen) to 6.4 in early flowering.
Must say what a trouble free ride so far, and have kept nute EC below 0.3.This is because i am trying to avoid excessive salt build up in root matrix, from pushing up Ph to early, and avoiding an end of veg flush etc.

House of "Orange Hill Special" 39 days; And are looking very nice indeed at the mo very pleased so far >>

The OHS "Maining" Experiment;
I started a couple before pre sex, risky i know, but wanted to compare to the 2 OHS i started maining after sexing and staggered branching.
You can see the branching on these, and the parallel nodes of the pre sex maining, With any luck, during the next 3 weeks final stretch, these will shoot up a fair bit, then into flower formation. OHS >>> The 1st two pics are Un-Branched Mains, Remainder branched Mains >>

Cheers TaNg, most appreciated. That Durban P, your just about to finish is some nice looking kit TaNg. A class journey through that grow man. A big well done, on that one TaNg. The colas, are huge on the Durban. Great soil grow man. "B"...

Day 53 overall, Flower 12 53/12 12/12 DUTCH PASSION >> Orange Hill Special Journal;

The "Oranje" are pushing into final stretch. 1.2m Canes have been employed early, bows bonded vertical. Expecting weighty blooms, and got in early with support, while i could still see my way in !! Small lower bows have been removed.

Ec, is up to 0.56 (Nute Only) + tap ec & buffer cal/mag mixed to 150ppm 0.3 = 0.86 TDS. Ph 6.4 26.4c Rh (Shot up last few days) Rh56% nute res temp 19c-21c VPD 46%.
They are responding to the prescription of low Genesis Ec feed regime (Mb & Gr2). haven't started in with the Bloom yet, as bloom building has not yet reached halfway point.

Silicon is added to every res made from start. as Ph up from a "Nitric" low of 5.6 ph. Then nuted. Silicon lift Ph back up to 6.4 = 15ml in 30L. As is Rizotonic, but this will be stopped when i switch into gen bloom nute mode. The 30L res is spun over for 15mins before feed is used, now every day, from alternate days in veg. 25-28,000 Lux at canopy.

Some have hit the 1.0m from soil, around 60%, the remainder are, not far behind, giving the most even canopy i have had in a while. No pot lifting, or height adjusments need so far, and have been separated into 2 groups the 1.0m's and the 0.8m's.

I like the way they come fresh leaves that bright light green, when new bloom push out from a leaf tuck !......like when you see them outdoors !!............but here the rub, no leaf tips down, no tip burn (Yet !), no leafs curled up, no deficiency sign, leafs up when under lux. Superb feed back from the "OHS"...like 9 ladies on "Find My Millionaire" when Patty, make's em all smile "permanently" !..... Just before she kicks em all out !!.....

So far then;.........veg was a dream, all be it a quick one. Structure is built strong, after topping (Single/Main) at 5wks, the bows are like arnie, bulky and expecting trouble, Ethylene is pulsing through the girls, making them wet from respiration !!......not yet sticky though........it wont be long though !!........

Awwwa shit !...my 23.40min RO 5Ltr alarm just went off back in a mo .......................

Ok, yea, so, they are all trussed up and pushing on upright, 50m of Lst plastic 1.75mm wire went into the strapping up of bows to canes, the following day all was pert and upright. OHS, is rotated every day 180 degree's, so all side get the lux at 25k. Trouble free strain so far, showing superb veg window, scoffing into early Fruitification day 12 OHS >>

The maining experiment has been moved to a freinds spare cab, to finish veg. but are looking fine. These lady's need the room !! Pleased with the low nute regime, substrate Ph is more stable, and in the right place !!.........as no TDS is built up so far......... i always top water my girls, dont like em sitting in water at all, (o2 Deprivation) or the gnats that can come with algae caused by this method. Fruit building has started, got a mental buzz about this "Oranje Meisjes" ...........looking good so far OHS/Dp >> "B"

OHS Update; day 63 only 2 months from 1st wetting, and day 23 flowering;

They have now started building trichs on the flower micro fan leaves. Which is mental, only 3 weeks into flowering phase. An omen for a heavy trich laden outcome. Some of the flower structures are building into 14" long atm. I can only wonder at the final length and diameter of these flowers bearing 21% content.

Triching up this early, has only happened once before, and not this early either. So i am envisaging, this could be the largest fruit i have ever brought forward. Still can only wonder at the finished height of these OHS.
icon_e_biggrin.gif

They are still on low nute input. 200ppm 0.4Ec tap TDS & buffer top up = 200ppm. Nute = 250ppm 0.5 Ec = total Ec 0.9 at 450ppm total TDS. Now watering at 1ltr ea/day1, at Ph 6.5 now. Room temp low is 21c high is 28 max. RH creeping up, reducing VP Deficit @ 58-62. 62% on wet rainy day's, usually 55-58%.
icon_cool.gif

They are not batting an eyelid, or putting a foot wrong. The res is kept below 22c for o2 saturation, and root matrix temp reasons. But they are thriving on 250-285ppm, and no flush needed at end of veg this journal. No issues to report, other than terrific growth and energy distribution with these OHS...

On low nute, the fans retain the correct color, with no curling up or down, or tip burn or flushing,
or def signings !!...... the genesis is performing to spec on low nute input, at this stage, after
a couple of runs on it, would have to recommend it. As it is of a higher concentration, it last very well to.
Am inputting 'Microbase" & Bloom only now, and leaning towards a 1:2 ratio of this mix. ie 1 off base 2 of bloom...
nxt update, in 10 days, should have doubled the fruit size by then !! still 8wks left of "Bloom" nute !!... Thanks for dropping in.. "B"
