Indoor NiceNEasy's trials and tribulations.

Ok, so after much deliberation I have found a possible middle ground to the grow problem. My current 'tent' grows will have to go, that much is for definite, but it does not mean that all growing activity will have to cease.

Instead of a static tent, which has a large footprint & is hard to disguise, I need to make a stealth grow box. The box needs to be movable, secure, NON-SMELLY, and cost virtually zero cash. As money is a real factor, I will need to re-purpose a lot of the stuff i have been hording the last few years, beginning with re-purposing the below box as the core area.

So the crux of it is, this indeed will be my last grow thread, but only in regards to the tent. This is not a route I really wanted to go down again (as I've done the DIY before), but it is better to have something than nothing. To be honest, I'm actually up for the challenge.

Requirements:
  1. No smell. This is mission critical. Any smell at all and we are finished.
  2. Stealth. Noise is not critical, but looks it will need to pass as NOT a grow box.
  3. Small, but large enough. The box needs to be as small as possible, but still provide enough room to grow an Oz.
  4. Movable. Easily moved, at short notice. Needs to be storable to, so if the electric goes off it does not leak smell everywhere.
  5. Cheap, but not in build. It needs to cost zero, but needs to stand up to time & use.
Possible Additions:
  1. Environment readouts. I have some sensor kits, and Arduino stuff.
  2. Automation. Auto watering, temps controls etc. Same Arduino kit could be used for this to.
  3. DWC. I have some small hydro stuff lying about. Why not use it.

Ok, more on this later.

i cant wait to see were this takes you also I've grown a fair few solo cups and a couple of them would be well over an oz I've had 43 grams off just one so maybe look at solo cups as you could keep them in a mini grow

Indeed bud, solo is definitely the way forward for me. Hopefully my micro-sized breeding will pay off as good practice for this next step.

Day 61 (Week 8.something)

End of week 8, and still a few more to go. Plants are doing their thing, so letting them get on with it. I've seen a few green seeds start to poke their way out, but my feeling is that it will be another 3 weeks before they are ready. I have until the end of August to get everything done, but that's not a fixed date, so all good.

Going to use the smaller plant to be the breeder. This is in line with my new growing arrangements.

Here she is, looking a little hungry. There has been some leaf loss recently, but I think I have a handle on it now.

At the top of this shot, you can see one of the green seeds starting to poke through.

Regarding my downsizing & the new problems that will bring, I have started a new thread. Once this grow has reached its conclusion I'll be continuing here. All welcome.

Day 70.

So 10 weeks down. I thought to mark the occasion with an update.

Both plants had been doing well, but now starting to look a bit raggy. Not much in the way of fan leaves anymore, but enough green to finish. They are near completion, and if it wasn't for the seeds I would probably look to cut this week. As we are seeded, I'm going to leave it 1 or 2 weeks more.

Both plants really stink, but the smaller one especially. It is almost too pungent. Takes me right back to White Widow & White Russian days.
