Thanx for passing in Evilscotsman ! unlucky on your first attempt mate ! hope i can help ye some !.......

What i do with the rockwool cubes is put them in a bucket of tap water for 3-4 hours till they get to a softer sea sponge like texture , then when theyve softened i then ph the bucket of water to 6.0 and then take the cubes out . ! Then once got the seedling in the rockwool cube i pour nutes out the res over the seedling cube i think once every few days to keep them damp !
when using low 300ish ppms i can use the nutes straight out the res pouring on the rockwool seedlings without worries of burning .
think its usually around 2 weeks time till the roots have came out enough through the bottom of cubes to be ready for the nft tray !
cheers dude , hope its gave ye some forward motion !
thanks man.
do you dry the rockwools cubes between comming out and putting the seeds in? mine were drenched when i put them in. i also phd my buckets to 6 but never realised till 3 or 4 days after id put my taprooted root riots in them theat the ph had risen to 7.8 and they took another week to dry out so zero growth during that time. was thinking next time along the lines of rinse them overnight in ph5 then let them dry out and spray them with a bottle of nutes to get them wet enough again. surely a wee bit moisture in the middle then the sides wet from the outside would encourage root growth more than them just being soaked through enough to last a week? my sometimes flawed logic and very basic understanding of root growth says that would be a good idea? whats your thoughts bud?

Hello there E.S ! I dont dry the rockwool mate , i do give them a little shake movement to rinse a little water out of them when taking them out of bucket , then i put the root riot seedlings straight in the rockwool cubes dude ! , the cubes can stay wet for a while but some do dry quicker than others you may find also ! i pick them up and weigh them in hand and you can tell what moisture the rockwool seedlings are holding before whether they need an extra damping ! roots preferably like just a damp envirnoment to grow quickest ! theres a balance there with the rockwool , its easy making them soaking wet ! its where there drying out you get the quickest growth on them ! ones you have phd the water i would take the cubes out as the alkalinity of the rockwool with continue to react and rise the ph in the bucket ! when your ph-ing your water you only need droplets of ph up & down ( not mL !) , Eg : my water is roughly 7.2 an only a few droplets of ph down in a bucket of water could drop it below 5.0 easy !

today on the feelgoods !

The furthest ahead wernt looking that good and abit droopy and thought its got to be a ph thing ! so ive checked the res and the ph was 5.1 :finger: , i then added about 1ml of pottasium silica in the 40 litre res and was back up to 6.1 ! theyl soon perk up in the perimeter of nutrient available spectrum . its cold in the area at the min .

The other one with it is starting to flower which seems abit on the early side ! ? , it is either a medicann kush fromage auto or a world of seeds northern light x big bud auto ! ( one of the seedlings at the time never made it so some mystery of strain type currently !
