No instructions with light, how far away and what dimmer setting for sprouts then veg and flower? I have coco/perlite in 3 gal fabric pots. Would soooo appreciate some feedback. Thanks!

I’ve been experimenting as a good rookie should and listening closely to what my girls are telling me. I was just curious if anyone had close to a definitive answer but it’s all good because trial by fire gives the best knowledge I suppose. Two auto flowers in 3 gal and two photos for a friend in 1gal, they haven’t died yet so I guess I’m figuring it out. These are 16 days from sprout…(crinkled leaves due to typical light stress for a rookie)

How high is the light? They don’t look bad. I think the “crinkled” leaves are from water not the light. I could be wrong though. They really do look good. I se to blast my plants with a ton of light but have backed way off. They don’t need much light the first few weeks.

Man thanks for the reply, the light has been dimmed to 40% the whole time and it’s currently 36-38” away which seems to be where I get the best response. But they’ve been 14” away and they’ve been 60” inches away during their short lifespan, as well as receiving (apparently) too many nutes as a seedling. Poor things had a mom who smoked crack when she was pregnant haha they’ve been through a lot

From what I have read it seemed like a good idea to increase to 60% today (day 16) and see how they reac. I have a very simple setup with a dinky fan and a cool mist humidifier with a steady temp of 74-77 degrees and 50-55% humidity. Super clueless to growing but very much enjoying the attempt

I use the same soil, HF and OF mixed. It’s really hot. You shouldn’t need to feed any nutes for up to a month depending on when they start flowering. 36 Is pretty far. Id go to 24 and 50%. See how they respond.

I’ll give it a shot man thanks for the suggestion! And I use coco/perlite which I was told was inert so I’d have to add nutes but it was after I gave it the nutes suggested on the bottle that I read here somewhere to use maybe 1/8-1/4 of suggested use if any. As I said, total trial by fire lol.

Lol. I apologize the last thread I was reading, he used soil. Yea coco you will have to add nutes every water. I would definitely start on the low side and see what they can handle. I’m new to this as well but I’m getting things dialed. I was giving my plants to much light, to many nutes, waaaaay to much water. You’ll get it figured out. They don’t look bad at all though. But I do think the crinkled leaves are because they’re holding a bunch of water which isn’t necessarily a bad thing since you’re in coco.

Right on man. I just raised em to about 26” and I don’t have 50% option so I’ll try 60% and keep an eye out.
