Ok, after reading so much info on here in the last two weeks, this newbie to growing MMJ is just plain dazed and confused on the transplanting into permanent pots, and just when I need to start feeding with liquid Organic Nutes.

I will try to provide as much info on my end, so that all you veteran growers can help me out.

All the gear I will be growing is from HighRise:
Patriot Medicine ,
Fast Bionic Guerilla
Pakistani Kush x Mighty Durban.
Ghaze X C99 Auto Feminized

As you can see 2 of these are Autos and the other 3 strains are photos, two of which sound like very earlier finishers. I’m not sure if this makes a difference in answers to my questions, as far as autos versus photos, but I thought I’d better through that into the mix.

Before I go into my questions , I have been growing vegetables/herbs/flowers (mostly organic) for 30 years, so I'm not new to growing plants. But MMJ sounds like a whole different animal as far as growing primo Medicine.

I’m planning on putting my seedlings in 4” x 6” pots with FFHF (open to other recommendations here), for 4 weeks under T5HO Fluorescents before transplanting them into their permanent pots to grow outside in a hoop house ( I will harden them off first).
I know, I know, I’m probably crazy, but I’m planning on growing approximately 15 plants outdoors for my first grow. (I’ll have plenty of time to tend them).
Regular black nursery pots ok, since my plan is growing that many outdoors my first go around?

I’m pretty much settled (but not completely set) on using Subcool’s Super Soil Mix.
Super Soil 8 large bags of high quality organic potting soil with coco and Mycorrhizae
( I will be using Roots Organic as my base soil)
25-50 lbs. of organic worm castings
5 lbs. of Blood meal 12-0-0
5 lbs. Bat guano 0-5-0
5 lbs. Fish Bone Meal 3-16-0
¾ cup Epsom salt
1 cup Sweet lime (Dolomite)
½ cup Azomite ( Trace element)
2 Tbs. powdered Humic acid

When I go to transplant into permanent pots, I know that I can’t just put plants directly into a ‘hot’ mix like this. So, from what I gather. I just place the TLO/Super Soil mix in 30-50% of the bottom of the pot and then put just my base soil on top (is this all correct)?

If this is indeed all correct, where my confusion comes in is that this TLO mix does not require supplemental feeding. But, it would seem to me that I would need to do supplemental feeding until the root system is big enough to hit the ‘hot’ soil. Is this correct also? And if it is, what would be the best organic ‘tea’ to feed with?

One last question, even with this mix, it sounds like it would be a good idea to feed with molasses for the last 2 or three weeks. Am I correct to assume that also?

I know I’m asking several questions here, but I want to get all my ducks in a row before I start.:D Hope this all kind of makes sense.

Thanks ahead of time for your advice/recommendations/corrections.
:peace:

Hey bud. If they grow good and are 4 weeks old then they should be just fine to transplant into that mix straight up. Then just plain Ph water from then on out. :D

Molasses helps with the micro herd early on to give them something to feed on, as well as supplies xtra calcium and magnesium.
It also acts as a sugar/carbohydrate in flowering to juice them up some(Some folks use it some don't). You wanna feed plain water for the last 10 days IMO. :D

I've asked a couple of folks to chime in, because you're running Highrise gear and we can get the breeder and some of his primo testers to check out the thread.. All strains may be different and they'll know what's more finicky and what's not. One thing I'd recommend for sure is for those feminized beans, transplant early or start in a larger pot. The HighRise breeder is a big outdoors guy and has many a TLO folks test his gear. His stuff is built for rough conditions and will excel in an outdoor environment from what I've seen.

Glad to have you and excited you're diving right in, 15 plants sounds great brother!

NOTE: You probably already know this... It is very important to let your supersoil cook for 30 days or so... if you do that, you'll not have to concern yourself with how "hot" your mix is.

So far, perfect. The FFHF is great for seedlings... my personal favorite.

Actually, that is exactly what you do. IMHO, I would not commit to leaving the seedlings 1 month before transplanting. As soon as they show sex, they will be ready to transplant into final pots. We actually like to get auto's into their final pots as early as possible to limit stunting.

Hope this helps... Thanks WG2 for the head's up...

Thanks so much for the help all!:grat:

My gear from HighRise came today already.

I'll order all my grow equipment this week, and I should be good to grow.:D

I still can't get over, how helpful you all are on this forum :vibe:

If this is your first run of TLO yields will be smaller than subsequent runs so I would use a little extra Nitrogen from and organic source, and while you can make your own, as a new guy I would just go buy a small bottle, of organic N.... and then in flower fox farm organic bloom... then next round you will be adding just water...
