So this is my very first grow ever and after several weeks of dedicated research this is my setup I'm going with. I've designed a 4ft by 8ft by 7 ft tall room completely sealed with Mylar. I have 2 80 mm cabinet cooling fans down low, with a 6in inline exhaust fan up high with my own homemade carbon filter on the totally opposite end of the cooling fans. I'm using 6-4ft t8ho 6500k flourescent tubes, and 12 cfl's at 6500k for my seedling and vegatative growth. Then I have the same lights just at 2700k for my flowering stage. I'm wanting to grow 6 plants at once, 2-auto chemdogs, 2-thc auto bombs, and 2-auto candy kush's. I've chose these because of the seed to harvest time is all relatively the same and them all seem to be beautiful buds. I'm planning on using the nature method and starting the seeds naturally in my 3 gal pots. While they're in the germination stage what should my humidity levels be at and what should I do about the lighting? Should I put the lights directly over the soil until they break ground or should they germinate in the dark? I know t5's are the recommended tubes, but I had the ballasts an fixtures already which saved me some money. I'm looking for all suggestions and comments that anyone is willing to offer. Hope this rocks! Thanks

Usually we germinate in water or paper towel. You can germinate right in the soil.

Keep the soil moist not wet, and cover with a dome (cut water bottle works well).

Someone should be along soon.

Will the light penetrate through the plastic or should it be dark? This is the part I'm worried most about. And do u think I'm providing enough light for six plants? And the reason I'm trying to do it the nature way is bcuz I've read several times that autos do not like to be transplanted.

What is the wattage of your cfls? You can germ with lights on.I use t5 for germing andput them close enough so the heat from the lights warm the soil just slightly and move them when seeds sprout.

Until the seeds sprout, light doesn't matter...so don't worry about the plastic.

Lighting...I have no clue...but I know someone who does! - give me a minute...

You are right that autos do not like to be transplanted...there are ways to up pot without the plant knowing it's being transplanted.

My t8's are 32 watts and my cfl's are 40 watts each. Is it true that by stressing autos it makes it difficult for them to recover since the veg stage is so short, therefore making transplanting not ideal?

Using a dome with the light just above it is good, and having the light right on the soil to use the heat is also good. There are many methods to use. When we take a germed seed with a taproot, and then place that into soil, we don't consider that transplanting, so that part is the same as photo strains.

Don't panic my friend, we are here to help. As far as your lighting AREA, not sure that will cut it. but it would help to know the wattage of the FL. lights. I think you can do it, but it may not be optimal, though I am not an expert in this area.

Hope to see you grow these things. Pretty cool getting the first one on yes? I remember my first auto, ah the days we had, oh umm, I planted first asked questions later. I much prefer your approach.

Peace

Correct. I don't no the lumen output of your t8's but with 12 cfl's I would think you have enough light.

My output on each t8 is 32 watts along with the 12 40 watt cfl's. I know it's a bit under the recommended 50 watts per square foot but I'm not utilizing the entire room. Just roughly 5 ft of the entire 8 ft length. Yes this is completely awesome and so exciting. Past few weeks I've become more and more confident with my growing ability and now that I'm just a few days away I'm nervous as hell and scared to screw this up cuz it's me and my buddy who have close to a grand already invested in this! U guys r helping big time tho so thanks
