Hey all, first post here. Although I am not a beginner with growing, this is my first auto grow, so it seems I am in the right place. I have done some reading in the forums and it seems to be a very positive place.
It seems Autos get a bad rap for being the "budget" or "closet" or "PC Box" grow, but I feel that having that extra 8-12 hours of light per day can make a big difference. I will be doing this in a 4x8 tent, so it is not for saving space or being stealthy, it is simply to see what these girls are all about when given plenty of light.
That being said, I ordered 3x CHAZE, 10x Mi5, and 3x Cobra off the 'Tude. I will be doing a grow log and sharing whatever I learn with all of you here.
I am going to be running 1000W MH 20/4 til i see buds on the earlier flowering strains, then switching to HPS. I realize the Chaze will take longer, but maybe the MH will help tame the beasts. This is my experiment. I am going to try one of each strain in Aeroponics and CFL's to try and get the roots going early and see if it pays off later. Everything else is either Ebb/Flow or ProMix+Smartpots... I have yet to get everything settled at my new room, so there is some construction yet to do.
My goal is to treat this project exactly how I have done previous grows, except for the switching of light cycle. I feel that by taking advantage of whatever piece of DNA that tells the plant to start budding, that keeping the lights ON, will give it more energy and growth.
To those who are familiar with this more so than me, this may seem like a noob assumption, but I am going to try. HID lighting, hydro/soilless, plenty of space and air, as well as CO2 off the bottle hopefully. (assuming I can get my tank back from a friend who is using it)
I have my personal select nutes I have come to love and hate over the years, which would be alot of GH/GO for macro's, and Advanced for some of the treats. Molasses is gold. I also use Hydrogen Peroxide in my hydro to supercharge the roots early and have had great success in the past.
So, now that I have revealed a bit of my strategy, I welcome ALL comments and criticism to make sure my ladies are on the up and up.
Cheers,
