Got to be careful here, too close and the seedling will fry. With that said the seedling was speaking to you and needed to be closer... but I wouldn't put it that close...… just a few inches more or raise the plant, put a phonebook or something under it......

I have raised it a couple more inches

Looks good. I do the same when filling my pots. I fill to the top and after a couple of full waterings the soil settles an inch or so.

you want the light at least15 inch away from your seedling otherwise you will damage her if it was me i would go a little higher than that you can have a cfl that close but its your call pal also thanks for posting your journal on afn
