Ok so i have been just running around the web watching vids and reading a few writes up. I was under the impression that Plasma lighting will be the next big thing after LED but to my surprise i seen that chameleon has discontinued 1 of there lights already and is moving into a new LED. So that leaves me thinking where is plasma going? and it is really the next thing?

This is from there website

"Three-Color LED Red-Spectrum Extender
Engineered Specifically to Augment Solar Genesis - Plasma Grow Lighting
(or any other grow light)"

I came across one site that seemed unbiased and people where asking questions about there biggest model and the retailer said it covers a 5x5 area the price is in the 7k range  I knew Plasma were expensive but DAMN you would think for a lighting system in the 7k range you would get ALOT more out of it then that. I guess its why they discontinued it.

Also in the LED section i run blackstars myself (thanks Tshirtninja)

I found a great site on LED reviews it was nice to see how well documented they were and how it was broken down.

you can check it out here http://ledgrowlightsreview.org/
at the moment it seems the PenetratorX is Leading the pack but is expensive since you will shell out 2k for the big boy. Most on here would say "piss on that 2k for a light" and i would agree, at the moment i am trying to find out what is leading the pack in the grow lighting industry

Since i will be moving into photos soon i am looking for a possible replacement and that is a BIG MAYBE. I honestly don't want to move to HPS if i don't have to. I would love to find a LED that would kick an HPS out of the water as far as yeild goes for Photos and in the same hand keeping electric bill on the low side as well as heat. I would imaging two 1000 watt HPS would be quite expensive to run.

I am thinking to myself will my 4 blackstars 240's be good enough to produce huge photos with big weeble wooble colas in a 4x4 tent?

Might upgrade to a 4x8 tent, so many choices!!!!

Please Comment/add lets make another quality informative thread :toke:

ive been looking for a chinese manf to make me some custom plasma induction lights for a year now. its going to be hard to get and even harder to maintain if they fail. they throw out better par than any other lighting but are only used in the street light industry so getting them in grow rooms is a pain in the ass. they are the future if someone would make it. im so impressed with the water cooling that i bought another unit yesterday locallly for 150 bucks and will be using HPS now in my setups. led will be for mothers/clones now.

I found this video about Lumigrow and comparing it to other LED lights it is long but informative, i enjoyed the video

I just got an email back from Rob over at lumigrow, They are currently running a promotion on the Lumigrow ES330, Here is a qoute from the email
"we have a sale on our ES330s going on… the units MSRP for 1499. Purchases made by 12/20 are 699 each and those between 12/21 and 12/31 are 799 each. Just a heads up for you."

Just throwing it out there for anyone Intrested in this type of LED light. After going back and forth with him i believe i would like to give the lumigrow a shot myself

Nice. Keep us posted on what you hear. There's a few grows on other forums using this type of lighting, and it looks real impressive.
