Mephisto Genetics New everything with Mephisto!

Welcome to my new journal!
I hope to be around for a long time, this time around...
New house, unfinished basement with a corner as my grow room. It has taken a while to organize and acquire everything and build the room but it is finally done!

It's legal to grow 4 plants per household in Canada now, so why not grow my own meds?
At least I will know exactly what goes into them and have a good supply of amazing herb!

For now, this will be the only post till I can actually germinate some seeds...
Medical appointments and surgery take priority unfortunately, so the grow will only start around April 6th or so.
Just excited to start growing again!!

What's a post without pics?? Pretty boring I know, so lets get on with the show!
But before that, since I have no pic of the beans...
I will be growing:
Grape Walker Kush
Sour Livers
3 Bears OG
Northern Cheese Haze
All Mephisto Genetics, a first for me and stoked to fill some jars!!

As per usual, there was only a basic plan, have a +- 4X4 room with some storage area for supplies.
Here is a half way done shot, the internal door was a neat idea I came up with as a quick save!
It will make sense later and actually turned out really cool!

And after some additional elbow grease, I managed to do this!

Here is a better pic of what the internal door is all about.

When closed, it forms a slightly larger than 4X4 area. Perfect for my legal 4 plants!

It seals the 4X4 perfectly while still allowing good air circulation. Speaking of which, i forgot to pick up a small fan at the grow store this afternoon...
You can also see the in-line fan and carbon filter. They exhaust out of a sealed window here:

And the money shot! The grow area with Quantum Board, fully foil lined and super bright!

I will be using Step-Well soil products for growing this time.
https://stepwellsoil.com/
They deliver all over Canada and very well priced IMO.
It's a living soil setup with beneficial microbes that require a compost tea feeding every now and then. Apparently no extra additives are required, we will see about that though.
I do have the Flora line just in case as well as Cal/Mag etc...

I think that is all for now.
The next week and a half will be spent programming the light timer, cleaning the grow room and sterilizing it and adding some shelves for storage.
Also planning on using distilled water this time and possibly buying an R.O system.
Home tap water is pH 7.0 and considering I do not like it, I will not make my plants drink it! LOL!

Light schedule will most likely be 20/4 for this Mephisto Auto grow.

Very excited to be growing my own meds again!
:pass::bighug:
Looks exciting and like a lot of hard work! Best wishes and good luck. Count me in to ride along. :weed::peace::weed:

Cannot believe that it is Sunday night already! Where did thew week and weekend go???

Since this is my first true organic grow, I am undecided about it still. Feeding with microbes and a compost tea here and there is just weird.
They were defoliated a bit today to open them up a bit and then watered with microbes, Thrive-Alive and some compost tea. When i measured the PPM it was 100PPM, seems very light to me and this could be the cause of their smaller sizes. Think I need to look into some organic top dressing amendments to boost them during veg and bloom.

The GWK and NCH are doing great, smaller plants but very healthy and happy.
Berry Bomb is coming in 3rd with Sour Livers and 3 Bears OG trailing...
Sour Livers has been a battle since the start, next time will be much better! Think she does not like too much water and needed a boost of cal/mag to cure the light green leaves.
3 Bears OG was soaked, placed in paper towel till the white tap root emerged and was then placed into her final pot, she has not done too much since then and is small and fragile. I was hoping for a stunner.

Ages for the plants are:
GWK +- 4 weeks old
NCH +- 3 weeks old
BB +- 4 weeks old
SL +- 4 weeks old
3BOG - 3 weeks old

These are the smallest plants I have ever grown, so something in the system needs some serious tweaking!!

@Autobot-J I culled the little one tonight... It was actually growing well!

No Sunday update due to Game of Thrones Finale... What a waste of time... And because I am fighting some deficiencies and seem to be talking to myself in this thread. LOL!

Anyway, I have been feeding them according to the manufacturers recommendations and things are going downhill slowly.
Before starting with this soil, I contacted the manufacturer to ask about it's use with Autoflowers and LED and was told to use their normal feeding guideline and it would work amazingly well.
Most grows with this soil and feeding schedule is for photoperiod plants, so autoflowers are a bit of a challenge.
Feeding only microbes, cal/mag and compost tea and the leaves are losing their dark green color and lightening...

Everyone needed a good watering a feeding today and I had to make a choice...
Today I switched over to using my old Flora nutes, micro and bloom which always gave me great results and healthy plants. So much for organics this time! LOl!

I will also be trying out a newer line of organic nutes with my next grow and hoping they will work well together with the soil.

3 are flowering now, Grape Walker Kush, Northern Cheese Haze and Berry Bomb.
The 3 Bears OG is still struggling along and is the run of the bunch but I will let her do her thing anyway!
The Sour Livers is a very compact plant, seems to be the most light sensitive as she is super small, compact and bushy!

Lots of changes to be made for the next grow!
At least the room is nice and stable, so no issues there. Only change I may do is to add some intakes to use the cool air from the basement for passive cooling.
Also need to figure out the best height and wattage for the QB, thinking as high as I can go to use full power effectively but not sure I need all that power.

If anyone reads this, let me know what organic nutes you use and your feeding schedule.
Thanks!

I tried gh gobox which is just there organic nute line up it seemed to work but I was growing in coco and think If I had done a little more prep work with the coco it would have worked better but if your looking to do organic maybe try that of just feed every other watering with what you have

Gave all the ladies/mutants a flush tonight with R.O water pH'd to around 6.3.
2 Liters of nice fresh water and we will see how they react.
Will give them a light feeding when they dry out a bit and hopefully they get out of their funk!

Starting to smell funky in the room now!

Biotabs! Easy peasy

Biotabs! Easy peasy

Going to give a local fertilizer company a go!
All organic which is awesome!
3 bags and that is it!
Myco
Veg
Bloom
That's it!

First feeding will be tonight, so we will see how they recover!

I would love for Bio-Tabs to be available locally, then I would be growing with you, the easy peasy way! LOL!

It's been a bit since the last update and a few things have changed.
New nutrient line, Reefertilizer Organic and they seem to be liking them so far. Tiny bit of tip burn but the deficiencies seem to be easing up now.
The 3 Bears OG is still trying hard but I have no idea what it will turn out like...It's 5 weeks old and no sign of sex yet but she keeps trying!
The GWK and NCH are the tallest plants and will yield some nice bud. GWK has some excellent trich formation so far.

The flush helped a lot and then feeding the new nutes using my BlueLabs Truncheon which is indispensable as well as the pH pen!

So far I think the QB has been working out well and the ladies seem to be happy. The GWK is always praying 100% of the time, amazing plant!
Have a few improvements planned for the next grow as well! Thinking of going soil with a reservoir so the plants can always drink when required, similar to an Octo-Pot.
Still deciding and looking around at various options and DIY tutorials.

Enough chatter! Let's show the goods! for what it's worth...LOL!

She puts out some massive leaves so I can see her potential when I get it right!

Looking good there bud!!:bravo::yeah:

Sad news... The 3 bears OG Kush was put to rest last night.
She was a seed started in fresh soil that stunted somehow, possibly not enough water but am unsure.
The reason I culled her was that she was growing in veg, threw a few pistils here and there, continued in veg and covered the pistil sacks with crystals...very confused.
I started a new seed today in a double Solo cup, bottom removed off one and a drain hole.
The mix was enriched with some very high quality and fresh worm castings, also full of tiny worms! Myco's were also added. Watered with 6.8pH water with some Cal/Mag, EM1 micro-nutrients and Thrive Alive plant tonic.
The Solo cup is under a humidity dome in the grow room, should see some action by the end of the week.

The GWK and NCH are my best ladies. The GWK is a tough lady and can handle some good feeds while the NCH is a sensitive girl and does not like a lot of food at all.
The Berry Bomb should be very nice, she smells amazing! Very short and stout!
Sour Livers has some serious potential when I get it right! She looks great and her smell is super potent.
They have another month to two to go, depending on when they popped.

All the ladies were also given a worm castings treatment. I gently scraped away the top layer of soil and removed it to a container.
A few generous handfuls of worm castings were placed around the plant and across the surface of each pot. The soil was then replaced and everyone was watered.
Hopefully this will add a boost of food for the ladies!

While I was busy with the ladies I also gave them a bit of a hair cut to open up the lower bud sites and remove some uglier leaves.

The last few waterings have also been done till I get some run-off dripping out the bottom of the fabric pot. Think this was a HUGE mistake in the beginning that stunted the girls....
Now they get individually watered till run-off. Such a basic, stupid mistake to make... Oh well, live and learn again! LOL!

Will upload some pics during the week!
