Mephisto Genetics New everything with Mephisto!

During this wait time I have been running some tests on my room and discovered an issue I have not encountered on any other builds.
I need a heater for the room…
The main basement runs around 20C most of the time. The room is around 16C… Not good!

Will be buying an oil heater to resolve this issue.

Also added some HDF board under the reflective foil on the concrete floor to keep the pots off the cold floor.

Any info on what type of water to use?
R.O water or distilled water?

Also going to be trying some coconut water as an addition to the water of choice.
Still researching aloe…

Should be filling pots on the weekend and starting the beans as well.

One last item to correct is the length of the cables for the light. Need to shorten them a lot to raise the light more.

Another smallish update but things are moving along now!

I also decided to wash my new fabric pots before their first use, just in case of any nasties... Used plain, cold water and dried in the sun yesterday.

Today I mixed up the soil, actually just added some water to it as recommended. Filled 5 fabric pots with a nice fluffy and airy mix.
It is sold in bales like this

Here is a close-up of the organic soil from Step Well.

I added humidity domes on the pots and opened the top vents a bit to prevent sweating.
The new oil heater is keeping the pots nice and warm at around 23C. I have a small fan that blows through the oil heater to move the warmed air around.

And of course the beans!!! 1 of each has been placed in moist paper towel.

I thought I had a few more feminized Auto seeds but when looking through the stock, most were regs...
The 3 seeds below 3 Bears OG are Berry Bomb Auto Fem seeds, so one was chosen and added to the party!

I was keen to germinate a Mossy's Jem but they are regs, maybe next next round!

Found these in a store today and had to pick up a few...LOL!!!

And I just missed 4;25 by 5 minutes, typing this post up and hitting my De Verdamper!

Waiting for tails now and then into their final pots.
Then the real show starts!

I also picked up a bottle of TechnaFlora Thrive-Alive B-1 Green to help along the way.
Fully organic and can be used for soil watering or foliar spray.

There will be zero flushing going on at harvest due to the organic nature of the grow.
Hope it all works out!!

Checked the seeds this morning and they ALL have white tails emerging from the seeds!!
The Berry Bomb seed is about 6 years old, so very happy about that.

I first used a plastic box with attached lid and some paper towel, looked like just the ticket! Unfortunately I did not seal it all the way closed and all the water evaporates... Found dried up the next morning...

So a new plan was devised and I went with the @mephisto technique!
Looking for some more good luck, I used my old Half Baked DVD case wrapped up in my Herbalizer vape T-SHIRT.
Found out I need to seal the cut-outs with tape as the tissue dries out quite a bit.

Planting time tonight!!!:muahaha:

Eyyyyyy what’s up bro! Everything is looking nice!

I plant my seeds as SOON as I see a tail. That’s just me tho!

Hope everything runs nice and smooth and turns out amazing!!

I’ve got my ands full over here this AM lol

Tonight the babies went into their final 3 gallon fabric pots.
Poke a small hole, gently grab seed with sterilized tweezers and gently place tap root down and cover with soil.

After that, all the pots received a spray of Ph'd water mixed with some Thrive-Alive and were covered with clear plastic humidity domes.

I was not totally convinced by the DVD case of germination...I most likely have the wrong atyle of DVD case as it has a few cut-outs and the water evaporates from the tissue quite quickly.
There were 5 very warm and toasty and partially germed seeds looking quite sad.
I added a bunch more damp tissue this morning and had to leave them for 10 hours...They were slightly damp when I returned home and I put them into moist soils ASAP!
Next time I will place the seeds in paper towel inside a zip lock baggy, always worked well for me.

I also shortened the light hanger by half and then realized I need some sort of pulley system to raise and lower the light...
So a hook in the wall, a length of rope and voila! A dirt cheap pulley system that will work for now, it's nice to have a super lightweight light to work with for a change!

I would expect the usual 3 to 5 days before anyone wakes up.

I have the 480W quantum board on the lowest setting, what would the recommended height be for seedlings?
Don't want to fry them or have super stretchy plants.

Cannot wait for breaching day!

Im not familiar with that light but seedlings need hardly any light early on. I put them in the corner and wait to they bend towards the light and move them in a bit at a time. I'm running a bloombeast a900 and some 600watt panels and 450watt cobs and they are way to strong for the seedlings. I'd put your light as high as it goes and lower it a bit at a time. But like I said I'm unfamiliar with that light so I'm just speculating.

Nice grow. Very organized and great use of the space. That one big girl looks very happy there in the middle. What nutes you using?

@Tyler_Durden88

The light is approximately 7 feet above the pots, think that should do for now.
It is also on it's lowest setting, just received a Kill-A-Watt meter and will plug that in tomorrow to have an idea of wattage.

Most likely too bright for the seedlings but it is all I have for now as well as being able to lift it to the top of the ceiling.
If it is too bright at the lowest setting and max height, then I will install some shade netting for the ladies.

That BloomBeast looks interesting, not quite sure about their 20% increase in harvest though. LOL!
Nice mixed spectrum and led types! I wanted to try QB's this time with white light as my last few grows were with Blurple led's.
Will be checking if you have a grow up here to see your lights at work!

It's going to be interesting to see what this light can do though.

I was sceptical about the 20% too but I train my plants to increase yield already and with growing from seed it's so hard to get a accurate test done. But i can say it's PAR value is insane and my buds are way way more dence than before and the three diffrent dimmers give me complete control over spectrum. 24 band full spectrum is the highest I've found so far. My last white crack and forgotten cookies where grown with it and they where my biggest yields yet by more than 20% and the only change was my lighting. I'm not endorced by them so my words are the truth. I'm def gonna buy another one for the rest of my tent and illuminate the 4 others.
