Nelson, R.I.P.

My condolences Mrs. Nelson. Rest in peace my friend. Only knew him from the PMs we exchanged, but sensed he was one fine man. Hated to see this news this evening, just knew he was going to be fine.

Thanks Eek. Nelson was my friend. He and I had a continual conversation via PMs. We often discussed politics and related matters. We didn't always agreed, especially when it came to socialized medicine. I'm a conservative, Nelson was a liberal, so you can imagine how those conversations sometimes went. But in the end there was always a mutual respect and we always remained friends. Even though we never met face to face, I came to know and love him as a brother. Some of you may not know, but Nelson was a brain cancer survivor of eight years. I know since that time he treasured each and every day of his remaining life. He fought the good fight, but in the end, the Good Lord called him home. I will miss my friend.

Muddy thank you for sharing that about your friend. One heck of a group here morning a missed brother. RIP Nelson.

Rest easy, brother Nelson. I'll miss shooting the shit with you about the morning's events on your balcony and your quest to create the stinkiest strain in the world. Most of all, I'll miss the excitement of logging in to see that I have a PM from you in my inbox, knowing that it would somehow brighten my day.

Til we meet again. :smokebuds:

Love and healing karma to Mrs. Nelson and the family.

My heart is sobbing for you nelson. Rest in peace my friend.

Nelson was a special member. I remeber him and muddy being the most help to me as a new grower when I first started out here on afn. He had years on hands on experience and shared all of his tricks of the trade with anyone who would ask and his witty sense of humor always put a smile on my face. Nelson always had a way of wording his posts in a way that made me want to read each and every one. Always insightful, always spoke up for what he believed in and stood his ground. The only member I can see getting away with giving himself his own medal for reaching 2000 post! Lol how proud was he when mossy made it an official medal for him! I remember congratulating him in a personal mesaage when he was finished paying off his loan debt that he used to beat brain cancer. He responded saying he was almost home free in regards to debt and wanted to do some treveling....now's your time old friend. See you on the flip side nelson. My heart goes out to mrs. Nelson.

Rest easy nelson...
