Nelson, R.I.P.

You are the sun that lights the day
You are the star that never fades
Making the flowers bloom
Taken away too soon
Your spirit’s living on today

There’s no words to explain
We’re left alone with the pain
No matter what, we will survive
Your memory’s alive

Soaring where the angels fly
Shining through the darkest sky
Severing the ties that bind
So divine, you left this world behind

You turned the water into wine
Pulling the souls right from the vine
Time is written by your hands
Mortals can’t understand
The secret lies between the lines

Wilted down, skin & bone
Now your name is etched in stone
Centuries we hear the cries
The legend never dies

Soaring where the angels fly
Shooting clouds from midnight sky
Severing the ties that bind
So divine, you left this world behind

Soaring where the angels fly
Shining through the darkest sky
Severing the ties that bind
So divine, you left this world behind

im truly sorry to hear of this great loss and my thoughts and prayres go out to his wife and both his on and offline family and freinds. i never had the chance to converse with Nelson but his fight is one that is close to my heart as i lost both my mother and older brother to it! i was shocked and crushed to hear that another one of our brothers JT has been temp downed by it but this has really shook my new world here on afn. my thoughts are with Nelson today and i hope those clouds i see in the sky are courtesy of you making yourself at home in heaven!

I still miss my old friend Nelson and think of him often. We met on another canna site and both came here at the same time. Often we would both log on in the evenings and spend hours exchanging PMs, discussing politics, world events, and of course, growing. He was a big proponent of socialized medicine as the Canadian health care system had paid for all of his cancer treatments. As an opponent of socialized medicine, we had some lively discussions. We shared a mutual respect and always gave the other opinions due consideration. He could be cantankerous and hard headed, but I loved him just the same. RIP my friend.
