For anyone who isn't already aware, as a young man Nelson worked as a concert sound man for many years. He worked the Monterey Pop Festival in June of 1967. Monterey was the first big outdoor rock concert and preceded Woodstock by two years. At the end of this clip you will see a man in a hat walk up to the microphone, that is Nelson, forever immortalized in the concert film. He told me that afterwords he sat back stage and drank a beer with Jimi Hendrix. How cool was that? Rest easy my friend.
ANF'ers...Smashed is unable to get to the puter atm...Id like to send our condolences to Mrs. Nelson. It is an awesome person that can touch the hearts of so many that he never met. A truly blessed man, Nelson. Mrs. Nelson, I am overwhelmingly sorry for your loss....words cannot convey my heavy heart today. I know we will have the pleasure of meeting Nelson one day....and what a joyous day that will be. The wonderful spirit that this forum has cannot be compared, it IS more like a home for many. We make friends and form long lasting bonds....we help when we can and do what we can do. AFN is like a family to us.
