Need soil advice...help!!!

Happy frog is what I'm using now.

When you dig them out, expect the roots to have gone at least as far as the leaves do,

I like to leave a little space at the top of the bag to add soil for top dressing.

I would water it in with grower's recharge once transplanted.,
The superthrive is kelp helps roots

It's considered a fairly hot soil, so I don't feed other than extreme blend the first few weeks.

Every now and then I've seen seedlings get pale spots on the leaves for the first couple of days, but then it passes, so it may be a little too hot for some strains. I wouldn't mix any ferts in with it initially.

I fill my pots, and water them away from my plants. I like to see if the soil is going to have gnats or anything else that I need to deal with before I put plants in it.

Ok so I messed up and put my gg#4 autos in coco in jiffy biodegradable pots. Rocket seeds said I should put in medium with no nutes for 3weeks. So I thought that would work.and then I was going to transplant into a happy frog mix in 5 gal grow bags. Can I do this now or anyone have some advice on what I can do to fix this. Was told they would die in coco with no nutes. The nutes I have are Dr earth veg, gold, and bloom, superthrive,cal-mag,dolomite for pH and apple cider, neem oil spray.and here's some pics.
:toke: You're not messed up yet, but if you keep those seedlings in those pot for 3 weeks, you will have,... If Rocket knew you were in coco and tiny starter pots, and told you no nutes for 3 weeks, they were talking directly out of their asses = :nono: - runts ahoy...
If they meant put them into soil, and still no nutes for 3 weeks, ditto, though not as horrible... HF is a mild soil...
For auto's, your veg' game needs to be dialed in on all levels, nutes, T, RH%, lights... It's the toughest part of the learning curve for new growers with auto's, there's not time to fix things or allow them to gain size back...

- 18/6 or 20/4, anything else is a waste for now... There's a few good threads here on this sunject, but my conclusion is that 24/0 is generally pointless with very few exceptions... seriously diminishing returns past 18/6 or even 20/4...

- organics are slower release, best way is to have amended the soil first and let it cook for a week or so in warm conditions... Inoculant is critical with organics, they are the breakdown crew for those nutes... weak soil herd = weak nute supply = weak growth and blooming... HF does have some in it already, so you're OK for the moment, but I'd get more in there ASAP along with a water-in of the DR.E' stuff... Which Gold, Bloom and which Veg?
Something with a close NPK ratio, 4-4-4 for starters, then after blooming starts, use the Bloom...
Top dress is too slow, so consider crushing up the stuff some, and water in... I've not used this stuff yet, so I don't know the dosage,... organic is more tricky in some ways! ...maybe start with 1tsp/qt water...

- I'd be leery of using 5gal pot unless you know your veg game is going to make the most of that volume, regardless of the plants described potential size...
If you going into bloom at only a foot tall, you're not going to get a 3 foot blooming plant most very likely... Consider going down to 3's this round...

- dolomite is a slow release form of lime; HF has it in there already, but it can't hurt with a lower level dosage... FF soils are dubious at best, often badly acidic but it's spotty, some get OK stuff, others get shit-show in a bag... Only a slurry test or a quality pH soil probe will tell you if this bag is OK (google slurry test for how-to, very simple but you'll need a good pH meter that's been calibrated properly)

I got a Dr earth feeding schedule designed for cannabis. So 5 gal is to much can not fill bags all the way up and fold lap over❓or do I need new pots cause I'm on a budget would like to use what I got, but if I have to get 3 gal then I'll have to wait 2weeks.

Oh too funny, Dr.E has a cannabis specific feed sched?!

Sure, you can fold them over, fill part way as you please,... I suggested smaller mainly because if you're new to this, likely this round will be on the smaller side, and 5's offer no advantage really, but no harm to go that way regardless... You certainly can keep the soil when done, recycle it and use again later especially with organic vs. salt-based nutes... :smoking:

Right on for the gear I wasn't going to waste money on bullshit and I'll send that when I get home for you about no nutes for 3 weeks
Ok they said soil I was wrong but no nutes either.

You got some good gear up there. I’m high but at your service. The times i have been doing coco i started with an EC of 0.7-0.8 then raised 0.2 every week, or more when ween needed. My plants did great.

Can you please show me the paper where they say you shouldn’t use nutes for the first three weeks?

Are you nutrients cheleted?

Ive transplanted a girl from soil to coco, did perfect, except i fried her leafs later in bloom.
