I am useing an HM com 80 tds/ec/temp meter and useing it on the 0.7 scale. I will be useing GH maxi grow and bloom nutes. My questions are, what should my ppm be for all stages of growth and am I useing the correct scale? I will be growing in DWC and I live in the US. The meter was gifted to me without instructions. I will also be growing 1 plant in soil, are the ppm the same for both? I hope that I included enough info on this matter. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

@Brother Earth 73 In hydroponics the PH meter and a good EC meter are tools you cannot grow without. You need to look up the care and calibration of your tool and make sure it is accurate. I lost an entire crop due to a faulty PH pen! Based on the street value of the crop I lost I could buy new PH pens every year for the rest of my life! Don't skim on your tools.

In the USA the Hanna scale (500) is used for PPM and in the rest of the world it is EC. Here is a equivalency chart:

When you use a nutrient line you want to use ALL of the products in that line. They are not just trying to make more money off you (although some lines do more than others) but providing different elements that either do not mix well or should be applied at different times in various amounts.

I have not used Maxi Grow so I do not have a schedule for you. Just start with 50% strength from the vendor chart and increase 10% each week until you get a slight bit of tip burn then back off 10%. This will have you feeding at the level the plant prefers.

Be sure to get and use Botinicare HydroGuard. I have a primer here:
