  • my climate is tropical equator weather so temps from 26-36c and humidity from 40-80% around the year outside.
  • i have air con and choose a small room 3m x 4m x 2.5m to put my 4x4 tent in making it easier to control the environment.
  • i am about to purchase a dehumidifier and looking for opinions. I have 3 main options.
  • I cannot get a refund or return any of these dehumidifiers i purchase if they dont get the job done (only for defects and i wont be kicking it till it stops working hehe). i need something that is sure to work or i'm wasting money.

ONE
Most low-mid range dehumidifiers which i think are suitable for my room size seem only able to be set between 40-80% RH (40% min), whereas i would like to have 30% setting at least as a min( like the one im pic below - "Fral 22L"), as i feel i am unlikely to hit the exact min target of the dehumidifier always, so would rather set it 30% and hope for 40-45% at worst.

TWO

This one confuses me a bit. For the same price as option one i can get this dehumidifier, with stats shown in pic called "2nd one", however even though it is more powerful than option one, i am only able to adjust the setting between 40-80% RH. Mehhhh!!!

THREE
Choice number 3 seen here at Aliexpress will cost me half the price of option #1 and #2 and all are available locally but am worried if this will be good enough? It has a tiny tank am dubious if this can really handle my situation. For me it feels like too much of a gamble or am i wrong maybe? Again min setting of 40-80%RH for this one.

CONLUSION
I have access to dehumidifiers which will let me set anywhere between 10-80% RH but the cost is crazy (although i admit ill pay if that is what it will take) let alone the watts it pulls from the wall, so obviously prefer to avoid at all costs. These 2-3 models are gonna cost me a fortune as it is with shipping and taxes and so on as it is. Currently I am thinking to go with the Fral 22L because it has a 6L tank, it runs quietly at 38db(A) and can be set to 30% RH min, even though option two is slightly more powerful.

Also i see this particular one uses refrigerant r410a and the other two use R134A . Any idea if this is of any importance to me?

Any advice greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!!!!

@Mañ'O'Green Seen in another thread you had a Fridgeair 30L i think. Hoping you can share some wisdom.

I live in the desert where the humidity rarely goes over 60% in the summer. I pulls 50 pints in about 4 hours and shuts off with a full tank. I would suggest you go with the biggest you can afford and plumb it to a drain in your situation. 30% is unrealistic as a goal 40% is good.

I can't help you on the dehumidifier choice, but am currently in a test of a product on the forum here called Rotblock.

You need to take a look. I'm close to harvest in a packed 4x4, heavy idica dominant. And intentionally letting the rH run wild to see if I can get issues.
Not a hint of mold or bud rot.
