Hi Guys, Fairly new grower, on 5th or 6th run with autos and gettin there, seen some good yields and some poor yields. Im growing under 2x400w HPS, biobizz (grow, bloom and topmax) in standard multipurpose compost.

Have this same problem with every grow i do and i jsut cant get my head round it.... i have great growth up until week 3-4 of flowering, and then the leaves take on a pale blue tinge, very faint and not long after they start to turn a very pale green almost yellow and then the leaves are then slowly overcome with rusty coloured spots. when i feed them it seems to just make it worse, almost like they just cant uptake nutrients.

I have thought for a long time this is to do with magnesium problems as i know u have to give them a one off dose of epsoms salts. At times think it helps for awhile but then the problem just comes back??

On my latest grow i swore to try and fix this, i top dressed with MG-magnesium salts and MG-lime that i got from my garden store, i think this helped as i made it a bit further in to flowering than normal before i started seein the bad signs, i also noticed that for awhile my fan leaves where nice and waxy, which is something i rarely achieve....this week two of my pups have started yellowing rapidly on their lower leaves, when i fed them it barely helped at all, the leaves are pale green and the rust spots have only jus started, heres a few pics:

You can see on the close up where there is very slight rusting happening jus at my finger tip and along the top edge... it is more the fact they have not been taking to their food that has me concerned, i have not tried a direct feed of epsom salts yet only the top dress. Do you think i should try the direct feed, or is this even a magnesium problem??!! Im so confused, at times i think it could be over or under feeding, last feed i give them was 1ml Grow, 2.5ml Bloow and 1ml Topmax.

Any help at all would be amazing, this problem has been wrecing my head along with my yields for so long, is it time for me to switch from biobizz or is there an easy solution to this?? Thanks for takin the time to read the long ass shpeel!!! will upload a few full pics of mysetup soon!!!

Try changing your soil mate, if your using bio bizz bloom then try using bio bizz all mix it will work perfectly.

Have you tested the pH of your water/feedings and the pH of your runoff? What do they come back as? Do you have pH testing equipment? We'll get you fixed up bro and work on taking this problem out of your future grows! Hang in there bro; I know it's frustrating but you're in the best possible place you can come for answers!

Bio Biz bloom is a nute not a mix therefore he can not change the mix.It looks to me like a cal/mag def.The best way is to buy some calmag solution and use that. Also make sure your ph is right.

Would love to use all mix if i could but i live in the middle of nowhere so it comes at a heavy cost. i dont think that would solve my problem anyways. Ive been thinkin for ages its a cal mag deiciency and that im just not deliverin the epsoms ive been using to them in the right way. I have some cal/mag here but havnt used it just incase i made things worse. should i go for the 1ml of cal/mag and see how it helps. Also do you have to regularly use cal/mag or is it once now and then?? will take a ph tonight and let you guys know what im reading. cheers for all the input guys!!

Also would help to know what strains you felt suffered and which ones did better.
At week 3/4 of flower many autos are already at 7/8 weeks of total growth and are 2 or 3 weeks from finishing up (a few even are even ready @ 8 weeks)
So in the cases when they are finishing up, treating them late in the grow will only help a bit.
If you are new to growing, a really good way to get on top of growing is to stick with one strain for about 3 grows. By the end of the third grow you will have gotten things dialed, learned to read your plants better and found a new line you are comfortable using.
1 ml per liter of CalMag should not adversely affect them.

Hello and welcome. I use cal/mag almost every other feeding, Advanced sensi cal/mag grow (4-0-0) and cal/mag bloom (2-0-0) at 10ml per gal. I also grow under LEDs' and T5s' which seem to need more cal/mag. Another thing you might want to try is a mini flush between veg nutes and bloom nutes. Good luck and good karma.
