Lighting Need 4 Speed - Short Nepali Vs. Auto Speed Bud

Hi all,

I need to get a super fast grow done, hence the name "Need 4 Speed"

I had to mothball my last Mephisto grow due to maintenance, which was supposed to start months ago.
(my Mephisto grow will be restarted once all the pesky building bods have gone later this summer)

The ironic thing is I could have finished that grow by now renting sucks.

I was pretty annoyed to have to stop that grow and even more so that the repairs haven't even started yet, for various reasons.

I have seen a small window of opportunity in which to grow a super fast crop but I will need it finished asap.

Six weeks seed to weed, ha, this would normally make me lmao, but "needs must, when the Devil rides" eh?

I'm not expecting a large yield, the Short Nepali will only give around 20g dry per plant and the Auto Speed bud Is approx 28g. So if I can get 5-6 Oz i'll be happy for a month or two.

I'm not looking for yield but a fast seed to weed time, Short Nepali is seed to weed in 45 days and the Auto Speed Bud is seed to weed 53 days.

I realize that seed companies under estimate times and times given are under ideal conditions etc but lets see what can be done in a short time.

If the need arises I may have to chop early if my liberty is at stake, I seriously hope not to have to do this.

I don't need a lot of weed for personal consumption as I only vape in the evening but my stocks are running low and I need something to keep me going through the summer.

This grow will be 24/0 start to finish.

To be honest I have no idea how the time frame will work out as I am finding it hard to actually get a date for the work starting. It is down to the landlord and it is in another Flat/apartment, but I know his builders and they are nosey as fuck and the landlord and his builder buddies all hate weed/drugs in general.
I'm looking forward to it too To have a sneaky grow under the radar before the invasion starts.

Good luck arty. Can you lock it up somewhere in you apt? Or are they. going to work in every room? Does your lease require the landlord to give notice? In the U.S. They can't come in at will unless there is an emergency. I'm in.

It is partly a case of better safe than sorry mixed with a healthy dollop of paranoia. When I say paranoia I don't mean I'm freaking out just wary of nosey people being in the the house.
I don't want to be growing while they are here, once they have slung their collective hook, I can get back on with it.

Just had a look and the seeds are just starting to pop up.

This is a bit of a relief as I thought I might have cooked them.

I originally put the seeds in to soak at about 10PM at night and by the same time the next day the hadn't cracked but I didn't wan them to soak for any more than 24 hours.

So I transferred the seeds to Root Riot sponges and put them in my heated propagator and went to bed.

The next morning upon waking I suddenly remembered I hadn't put the probe from my digital thermostat in to the control sponge (root riot sponge with no seed in it used as a control for the internal temp of the other sponges).

I then put the probe in the control sponge and it read 26.6 C which is as near as damn it 80F.

26.6 (80F) is the upper limit for seed germination and so I've been crossing my fingers that everything would be ok and that I hadn't cook my beans.

Normally I germ my seeds at 22.5C (72.5F) using my Rootit Digi Thermostat and get perfect germination.

Thankfully everything is ok and the seeds are germinating, and one seed has it cotelydons showing, with the others not far behind.

Goes to show how easy it was to make a stupid mistake which could have sunk the ship before it had even left port all coz I was tired and medicated.

I'll wait for them all to show their heads and I'll post some pics.
