New grow journal=D The last was titled the automaria2 and speed devil grow journal, and since i've harvested AM2 and never grew the SD a new one was in order.

48 hours ago I began germinating one of sweet seeds big devil #1 to join the other girls in the closet. Just finished mixing her soil, so i'll be planting her in a 5 gallon bucket around 7:30pm when the others wake up, and putting her under 250 watts of blue spec CFL.
The other 2 strains (Paradise Auto Acid and Sweet Seeds Fast Bud) are on days 49 and 42 of flower (since the first pistils) and are under 250w HPS.

Soil for all 3 is/will be as follows - mixture of OF, harvest super powered compost +biochar, and black gold seedling mix.
Currently Available Nutrient line up is as follows - GH Flora Series - micro at 5-0-1 grow-2-1-6 bloom - 0-5-4 Miracle Grow QuickStart at 4-12-4 DynaGro Mag Pro at 2-15-4 Alaska Fish Emulsion 5-1-1
My tap water is grossly alkaline so I will be using the GH PH up and down.

had my buddy come over last night with his scale so I could get some kind of weight wether it be partially wet or not lol

So we go up to un-hang them for weighing and the closer we got to the closet, the more it smelled like hay. FML. There'd been a humidifier outside of the closet cause anyone who followed AM2's grow journal knows that Im lucky if I get the RH to 35% in the grow closet when i water. I also learned the hard way during my first harvest. So the humidifier was to help achieve at least a 5 day dry. HOWEVER, the bastard stopped working at some point shortly after i turned it on, and by the time I checked on them drying and realized it had stopped working, the damage was already done lol.
And low and behold my beautiful buds were shrunken and crispy.
So after the weigh in I put them in mason jars and let them sit over night with a 62% boveda pack. Checked on them first thing this morning, and they still smelled like hay, just humid hay this time. So I took them out and the moisture had been redistributed throughout the buds, so i put them on a screen we'd had from first harvest to finish up drying.

They should be fine, no?
Im assuming that because they were 'wet' so to speak, again after less than 12 hours in jars and I took them back out to air dry, that they werent fully dry when I took them down to begin with, and as they continue to dry and with a good cure, the smell will come back and wont taste like ass =/

FastBud(day 45) is showing a really bad K deficiency.
I was warned that my K was too low (even combined) lol Its probably too late in the game to fix her, its really bad =/ And its rather unfortunate too, cause she definately had potential. Im finally going to invest in what was recommended to me and that would be Grow More's seagrow bloom at 4-24-24 which will ultimately give me better numbers all around.


AutoAcid(day 52) looks better than she did in the ways of her N def. Dont get me wrong, she's still yellow for sure, lol but... better. more leaves are green(er) than a week ago...or maybe its in my head lol

-Just a little update-
we ordered the grow more bloom (4-26-26) so that we don't encounter any set backs in the p-k area for BigDevil and any upcoming plants. Might be able to give AA a dose depending on when it gets here. I hate when shits not on amazon prime lol.

went to paparazzi the girls last night.
I figured it'd been a while since I snapped any pictures, plus I wanted to check trics on FB.

Personally, I see a mix of clear and cloudy on her but no amber. Maybe some that are on their way, those trics appeared to have a yellowish tinge to them. Idk. We shall see. Didnt do too much research on the strains themselves other than whats listed on their respective seed banks. Turns out, all strains I chose, have very little in comparable information. IE- not terribly popular strains.
Not such a good idea for a new grower new to auto strains to grow out a bunch of grossly undocumented strains lol.

With extra attention to the Critical+. They were the freebies I got with my order and I have yet to germ any of them. The breeders description says the following:

The most interesting feature of this strain is without a doubt the intense aroma and taste that it produces; it smells like fruity skunk, but its smell is very strong which could pose a real problem particularly indoors where the use of carbon filters is a must until it is totally dry and packaged. It is important to emphasise that when smoked, even mixed with tobacco, the original taste comes through and it does not taste like burnt grass.
It is really intense from start to finish and a real pleasure to smoke, leaving a great aftertaste. It grows like a sativa and it looks a sativa with slim, narrow leaves, not too dark, long and quite thin stems for the size of their flowers. It has a lot of side branching with a short internodal distance which improves production. It is advisable to control the height before flowering, due to its tendency to grow rapidly during this period. Got our carbon filter/fan combo yesterday.

It really has done wonders for the smell coming outta there. The fella says it's gonna take a while for the air to get circulating and regulate the temps in there but idk. It'd been running for roughly 45 minutes when I went up to water and it was 84F. He did come up with the genius idea though, of running some ducting from the central AC vent to the air intake to make it blow colder air.

So here are my recent concerns/questions..


I was taking pictures of them in their bathroom where I now take them to water. (the smart pots are a royal PITA lol esp. the ones without handles lol) for whatever reason my phone kept using the flash, but I figured whatever, I like em better like that anyways. Upon closer inspection it appears as though AA has amber trics. Mostly on her leaves though, I didn't find any on the calyxes themselves. you see them too right? lol



still don't see amber anywhere on FB. hit her with nutes for the last time about 5 days ago and been giving her regular water since.


The new baby (BD) is getting bigger by the day.

Update day 8, 52, and 59

officially confused lol.

After some posts with Muddy about FB *yes Waira, I know you already told me =P* cal mag def. was was the answer.
He said good grows can be accomplished using the FloraSeries alone. So where is my issue? Potentially with the pH.

I did a test after adding BSM, after adjusting the pH, then again with the run off.

I actually watered her with 1/2 of what she needed, caught the run off from the side, tested it, and when it came out damn near the same exact color as when it went in, went and finished and then caught THAT run off, and it was the exact same way.
So I feel like I remember reading somewhere about dividing the number or subtracting or SUTIN, lol to get the pH of the soil at the root zone. If my run off is roughly 6.5, what does that mean for my root zone? Is that why she's having an issue?
I havent tested AA but i'm ASSUMING that's why it looks like her N isnt getting/hasnt gotten a whole lot better.
Tell ya what though. Regardless of their issues, they smell amazing.

days 14, 57, & 64

good morning AFN....ok so i'm a bum who sleeps until 11am, you wanna make somethin of it? lol

Still struggling with heat in that damn closet. The carbon filter does help with the smell, we've even run some ducting from the AC vent and connected it to the intake so it blows colder air. Added an exhaust fan. I've raised the HPS up as far as it will go. Got a clip on fan to blow the hot air away from the plants. But still, 20 minutes after the lights come on its in the 80's in there.
The only thing I can think of is that it's that damn tarp we put up for light proofing when we were growin' photos. It held up all through that first grow, but through all of the opening and closing, the velcro(e) is pretty worn out and its a good thing we aren't growing photos right now because there would totally be light leaks lol So I'm thinking that because of those...'gaps', the exhaust isnt 100% able to do its job which is why it stays so hot in there. And while the carbon filter does help A LOT with the smell, I believe that said gaps are also allowing that glorious smell to waft through that room and the bathroom. You cant smell it anywhere else in the house though, so I suppose it's not as a huge a deal anymore...the smell I mean.


BigDevil is getting...well...big lol she should be sexing any day now. Fingers crossed that this one doesnt herm because the last 2 out of 3 have lol. And there is still time for AA to start pushing out some male parts, so Im not holding my breath lol
Did my first tie down on her, like what 2 days ago I think? She was back facing the light within a few hours (she's under the CFL ballast since the ACTUAL ballast is currently being used for the HPS on the flowering side.


FastBud is really throwing me for a loop. When I checked on them earlier, I couldn't find those odd looking ball things anymore. I did see what is more than likely seed (or two) since it's (they're) like...burried inside a bud. She does however look like she might be starting to foxtail? I'm no guru and have EXTREMELY limited knowledge on them. sooo...opinions? Anyone?

Looking good. I see you are trying to find that sweet spot for your grow and dry room, you'll get it right its going to take some time just keep track of what work and what doesn't. I use sea grow also really happy with it sure u will too
