Outdoor My Second Grow - 5 strains - autumn early winter harvest - Australia

I have used the canna pk13-14 for a couple of grows, seems to work pretty well . Just start out at a quarter strength and work your way up gradually over a couple of weeks. Buds should be a little firmer than last time now that the heat has settled down. Growing in summer here is very difficult to get nice compact flowers, winter is a lot easier to get a nicer looking end product imo:shooty:

looking good to me  too much N = dark green leaves, maybe a lil burnt at the edges and possibly a lil clawing action going on at like the first knuckle of the leaf.
high N and low in P could have been part of airy buds:coffee: but first grow its not gonna be perfect :smoking:
i use different soil and nutes,i make a slow transistion from grow to bloom nutes 10 days after girly bits.some wait till vertical growth has stopped before switching to bloom nutes.(i think thats a bit long, but i not gonna ague with anyone that does it that way)
keep er lit
:pighug:

Thanks GreenBandit :d5: Great you have used the CannaPK1314 also, as we use pretty much the same potting mix soil. I always start low, 1/4 sounds about right. I even low does the vege, have being using each time i water. Yes i was expecting winter might be better, temps in the sun , summer air temp around 30+ would have been hotter for the girls 50c or something. Could be in for a good end product this time :pass::frog:

Thanks Archie, yes maybe a bit more N for SLH:pighug:, she appears greener than the others. I didnt use cannabis flowering nutes and local hardware didnt cater for the girls for bloom:smokeit::pop: The girls bits have been there for , not sure a while so must be about time for some bloom:greenthumb: Yes, i read somewhere week8 is a bit long to wait for using bloom nutes, esp since super green SLH is ramping up her buds, hasnt grown like the others anymore

Thanks Trail :pass:

Super Lemon Haze, she is a bit more advanced with bud development, which I am wondering since week6 this Thursday that i start bloom nutes? She is only 34cm atm

? time for bloom nutes or hold off 1 week, going to try Canna 13/14 or Flores i can get in 250ml or 1 ltir

Thanks Maria :frog:

-----------------------------

This morning, saw some gnats about base pot last night, so

neem oil with water this morning with 2.5ml (baby dose) Canna 13/14 bloom nutes. I hope the neem will not hurt the girls, i had to kill off a lot of gnants and had to make sure to keep neem up, should be able to stop that with watering now

bud from first grow Northern Lights Blue Berry :woohoo1:, Sour Daddy is all gone. This lot should be better now i have Canna and good temps days in the low to mid 20c

bud - previos grow.jpg

Weekly outlook - fine fine, rather cold mornings
under 20c and fine days are pretty uncommon, so its rather a strong cold front. Nerang is a bit warmer than here with max temps and also min temps, about 10km away in the foothills

Nice growing Bro. I like the whole 'planter on wheels with windbreak' thing.... great idea!
I'm in a very similar kinda location to you by the looks of it! Are you fully rural, or do you have neighbours?
Cool sunny days.... nice for an outdoor, but freezing at nights!

Thanks TeeTee :pass: Bro it a good use for bbqs, i checked out gumtree got a free BBQ, cut off the top then wind screen break. I'd love a add to the fleet of "grasshound bases ":woohoo1: Its semi rural, acerage estate 1.5 acre - 2acre or more blocks. I do have neighbours over the creek (safe i have thick trees, rainforest, and both sides and the west side of the house is good, trying to get hedge up the fence ( useless wire fence) Days are good but nights are gettting cooler and are cold during winter, girls are safe, 70% greenhouse mess, and roof on top, underneath where bbq once lived, before its become a grasshound:d5: SE QLD NE NSW much the same

update:

A bit of yellowing going on, and pale fans on another girl. I found some pests on a leave that was a bit yellow at the bottom of one of the girls. Has not been anymore growth maybe a bit with GSC. SLH stays at 34cm, but frosting up more, also pale leaves

Neem and 2.5ml Canna 13/14 this morning for the water

Maybe, red stem on SLH< include tiny bit of N? worm juice

A few gnants still about much much much less

ugly pests - a few different types

:cuss: bugs I hate those bastards!! I haven't had that kind yet so I'm clueless about how to get rid of them smokey:doh:. Girls are looking good mate, you will still have to add some form of N to your feed still I think mate. Maybe just reduce your old feed rates gradually over the coming weeks as you lift bloom nutes! Canna pk13-14 has no n at all in it if I remember correctly.....love the video update man:woohoo1:

Germination - Harvest Section

Currently in the fridge but as from tomorrow grow 2 will begin

as the canna is part perennial, and annual germinator, at the same time............. a period of "Vernification" or extended cold period, on the seeds, the winter before a spring germination................. dose have a positive effect on the hatch-lings, potential, size, yield, vigor & speed of somatic growth. In addition, only the strongest seeds survive the frosts and winter cold period, buried 10mm below the soil............. or just wind covered in a light soil dust !!.....the seed freezing, during late, swells the seed and cracks the case, so water can get in, during spring @17c minimumhatch temp, max is 25c hotter than that, say 28c and germ % drops rapid........ i allways hatch straight from the fridge at 5c.............. into 18c to 23c 5ltr pots, then selecet the best for potting up to final pots..

i have just put down 15 "Black Pine Seeds"..... (Pinus thunbergii), to germ these seeds, is a different matter !............. minimum 2 months in fridge at 5c.......... after a 2 week soak in rainwater with a tad of trace ellements and a smidgen of nitrogen..

Then you put them in the freezer at minus 5c for a week or two, to crack the shell.....
upload_2019-5-27_12-47-20.jpeg

they are about 8-10mm long........ once defrosted in the fridge for 5-8 days, even at 5c above in the frdge, the germ leg tap root, will fire off.............. however, you take them out of fridge into 12-17c air temp, end of May time. Then the tap root fires, and once fired, it will grow in anything at all, a crack in a wall even ! as long as it gets a dampen every couple days..........

black pine thunbergii hatch in sand...... cute poppers

Japanese Black Pine 11yr old bonsi !
upload_2019-5-27_12-38-5.jpeg

a 7yr old outdoor, i will grow 3 outside,.........
and LST and wire also,................ these will be in the grow room for years !!......... before i flog em on ebay !!............ 15 seeds may not be enough !!.........

maybe mulch like hecno

the new cudos in Uk is just that..................dont lift dahlia, tulip, or any bulb, or rhizome type plants, but mulch 10" thick from frosts............ on top of a 3" layer of sand to protect from minus 10-14c.we had last winter..... i left my giant decorative dahlia's in for the first time this winter,.............. lost one out of 4no,........ they where buried 14" deep !!................... not lost to frost though, but insect or mildew rot, below ground over winter... a natural loss process though......... its harsh outdoors !!.........

The girls are now in paper towels in separate plastic ziplock bags

paper towels, paper setting agents and or glue, infuses into the seeds............ bags and cups and fingers are all sources of bacterial infection to the tap root.................. and should never be 'Exposed" to UV A&B or IR....... as this sterilizes a % of the micro fiber root capillaries out.......... better to germ in fine filtered soil, you intend to pot up into.................same soil then same chem profile, and Ph, less chance of no show.......

i just use a pot i can get the width of clingfilm over the top, after wetting the soil and putting seed in 1cm deep blunt end upper most.............. clingfilm over at 18-23c............100% pop every time, now i use this method i very rarly loose a bean to no show.............. will drop in smokey...........love the canna bus trolley dolly's !!..................good luck with the grow man...
