Gnome Automatics My Journey to ALF#5

Cheers stick,,

I got one in last year and it did pretty good. I sell my stuff through the local farmers co-op as my neighbor is the manager of the place. So she takes the veggies that i grow and sells them there for me. It nice to have something to do with it all because i always have more than i need.

I have lots of heirloom seeds for veggies as well. Even some red and purple tiger striped tomatoes. They were hard to isolate as they are grown outside but i finally got it down. Never had the room to do them in the house like the peppers. They get pretty big.

Couple of my gardens from a year and two years ago.

I know i post a lot of pics of her but this is something that i have been waiting for, i dont think most understand how breeders think. You have a goal in mind and you shoose the plants based on that goal. You search, and grow seed after seed after seed looking for something that gets you excited. This is what takes years of patience sometimes because genetics dont always express the way that you map it out. Things come out that you werent expecting and sometimes you never see it again, its there just not where you are. Then it happens, you write down a plan, get your hands on what you were looking for.

Prep was taking a pure @Mossy black dragon black leaf line one more generation. I produced an F3 from that line, it gave me 3 phenos a black leaf, a dense bud, and a high resin plant. So i knew that the F3 genetics had those traits in them. The expression may show differently but all three were there, i just needed it on one plant.

I had a strain to introduce to the dragon line that had the background that i like and had similar traits in its genetic code. I grew three of them and two were the same pheno expression so i chose the one that had the better resin production and the result was more than i could have asked for. My female to male ratio is HIGH and i got color on the F1 male and female. Those who breed know how rare it is to see ideal selection results in the first cross they make. im just excited to see where the F2 will take me.

Thanks man i appreciate that a lot. Seeing a creation of your own is something that is just awesome. When the offspring show you traits that you were hoping for it means that you have a good idea of the parents makeup and what the result would be. Then seeing them come out is just exciting. They may not be all in one plant at first but they are all there just have to put them in order.

Fathers line had color, leaf and bud and had yield. Mothers line had super sticky and a greasy resin and several natural bud sites. The Black F1 female had color and great resin prodution with a touch of color on the caylex's here and there, the yielder has 17 main sites naturally and is nice and greasy.

Here is the ielder female ALF [HASHTAG]#5[/HASHTAG] with a few different lighting shots.

Now on to the fun stuff, I have smoke tested the black ALF [HASHTAG]#5[/HASHTAG] and boy oh boy. Super quick onset and strong, Had a nice mix of body and head but im sure that will change after the cure. only in cure mode for a week. Going to let her stay sealed now for 2 more to let it cure out. Want it to be proper before i really report on it. Aalthough i will share this. I ground up just enough of the black female to make a joint. This was a brand new grinder before i used it on this bud. I was on travels and dont take my good stuff on the road. So i took the one the @Dinafem-Mark and his team sent me as a prize. After getting the bud ground up and knocked out on to the rolling surface this is what i saw....

Just covered in resin, could not believe how much was there with so little buds..
loaded or what?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fueling my greenhouse dreams!

Cheers guys this cross has been one of my favs the things that are coming out of it are something to behold.

The color of that black one I'm still hunting down. I hope to see it again at the fam where I have roughly 200 going. 100 from each desired pheno in hopes to lock in color and the yields and size.

Little math update for those who are following along. 8 in Diameter and 6 in Deep roughly 1.15 Gal of soil and for those who are in the metric system that is 4.35 liters. I really like these cloth pots, they have done a great job so far and seems that they do a great job pruning the extra root mass.

She is 32.5 in or 82.55 cm tall for you Eu guys and gals. So she is rather good size in her footing. Should be interesting to see the yield in this much soil.
