My growing journey begins

I personally have never done a Scrog, C2. That’s ambitious for the first grow. I usually see it done most effectively in situatioms where the grower has enough plants to fill the space, or the space is small enough for one or two plants to fill the space. In your situation with all that space, I think you can maximize the plant growth with LST.
Yeah that's my problem, dude, I have a Walter white syndrome :D I am a perfectionist. Often I set myself too high goals then drop the projects unfinished when it doesn't go my way, you know. I'm more kinda reload the computer game than struggle finishing it with less resources/points ;D

We have DAY#13 and today I started LST. I thought a thick copper wire would be nice cause of its chemical properties and it's surface is very soft on the stem. But on the other hand it's freaking hard to adjust the pull and the wire's ends are very sharp so had to be very careful maneuvering around the plant's leafs and stems... I also slightly cut my fingers...
so the bottom line is DONT LET A COPPER INTO YOUR GROWROOM... na'mean? :eyebrows:

BGPP#2 DAY#13 this one seems to grow wider than the one above

As you can see the fungus gnats population grew bigger. From what I've red a few flying around isn't a big deal in living organics but this is the moment I gotta do something about it. The bastards are literally everywhere. I let the soil surface get really dry last days but then decided to spray it with BT solution (bacillus thuringiensis powder and water). Instead of helping it actually doubled the population. Interesting... Anyways I am expecting diatomaceous earth delivery this week and hope pouring it allover the soil's surface will help. If not than I have no idea what might.

PS: I will switch the copper wire to some hemp twine. Didn't use it in a first place cause it isn't that soft to the touch and I was afraid it may scratch the plants surface. Wanted to avoid any non organic materials like plastic and ended up with the freaggin' copper :D

Looking good C2! You should top dress with a little neem cake. I found it controls fungus gnats. I get mine from Buildasoil. Also, I recommend getting a light socket with a cheap but bright light bulb in it, so you can take some pics in natural light. Just turn off the blur-let’s and turn on your light bulb when working and taking pics. It’s a lot easier to diagnose issues that leaves may be having. Cheers!

DAY#16 for my Auto BubbleGums.
Last few days they seem to build mass more than growing upwards. Today I finally got the diatomaceous earth delivery and without wasting any time unpacked it and went NUCLEAR on dem flying bastards. As you can see on the photos below I sealed every drainage hole with a good amount of DE and didn't try to save material on the soil surface either. Then I mixed some DE into the mulch that I put back on top.

I tried to be gentle but from what you can see above the ladies feel a little abused :D but I'm sure they gonna look much better in few hours. But what will not look better so soon is the few leafs tips. Combining it with the leafs deformation I get from the very beginning gives me the idea of root damage described in TLO book by The Rev. Fungus Gnats can mine young roots and it would fit with the whole picture, if you saw my previous posts. Here below I made shots of the book's fragments and of the few damaged leafs tips. IMO that is the case.

The dead tips are on only a few leafs so it isn't that bad but it makes me think about what to improve. I'm doing my best and researching all the time. If you have any tips or experience with this kind of problems you're more than welcome to share it with me!

PS: thanks @Iriee Vibez for a good idea with turning the violet light off for the photo shooting :D

The fact that you read and research puts you ahead of so many new growers, C2. I have seen many successful growers start on here, and the ones that approach the hobby like you do become better and better with each grow. You are in that category. Keep searching for the truth, brother!

And yeah the natural light photos tell me that you have nothing to worry about. man. Hopefully that eradicated your pests! Full steam ahead!

DAY#21 for the two Auto Bubblegums and DAY#1 for the other two

Is the soil got a fair bit of bark in it . Be aware it draws nitrogen as it breaks down .

As you can see above I mixed wood chips into bark mulch in ratio about 1:1. I hope it won't draw that much N anymore.

Here you can take a closer look at the BGPP#1 (top) and BGPP#2 (bottom):

I used up all the soil and made a new mix. Base stayed the same (20L organic soil, 10L EC, 10L perlite) but this time added 2 more things that I collected in refrigerator:
- 1L distilled water after soaking and washing different sprouts I used in the kitchen (may be full of interesting enzymes)
- 2L blended organic kitchen waste like herbs after teas and leftover sprouts (will for sure add nice nutrients to the mix)

My ladies have some small nutrients problem but do I look like giving much damn? :D Of course I should do something with it cause the ladies start showing the female white ding dongs already whatever they're called. So I will take close-up photos tomorrow and visit the infirmary forum to get some help. Meanwhile I enjoy coffe with self-made canna tincture ;) Have a nice time everybody!

It’s almost impossible to see anything wrong under blurple light. Can you get pictures in normal light?
