My growing journey begins

We have DAY#1 of WEEK#2

The ladies seem to have some small problem, showed by slightly deformed leaves' edges. Might it be a N overdosis? It started like 2 days ago. Could be that the roots already got to the main soil already. But the mix is very light on fertilizer and was cooking for 3 months. Or... light burn? The LED is like half a meter above so it isn't that close... I have no idea guys. Other than that they look pretty healthy. I spray them 3x a day to boost the humidity that keeps dropping to around 50%. The photo attached below shows the moment right before I spray them.

Looking good so far, man! Found your thread!

Looking good so far, man! Found your thread!

Great! I will definitely need your help, friend, with cutting the tip of the plant soon :D I hope You will be willing enough to help me decide when to do it, cause what I saw from Your growing journey You manage to do it succesfully! ;)

Looking great buddy :woohoo1:

Your roots have definitely hit the main soil... hell, If you havent checked yet, I would not be surprised if the tap was already poking out of a drain hole haha

And about those first couple leaves getting a little wavy along the edges, I get that sometimes as well, I wouldn't worry about it, but I think it has something to do with you spraying them directly, I seem to get it more in the winter when I have to use a little mister beside my seedlings to keep humidity up.

Transplant: (note wavy top leaf)

3 days later... Roots!
(Note tiny light burn from water droplets left sitting on leaves  )

Happy growing and :goodluck:

That could be the case cause I sprayed the shit out of them three - four times a day :D Every time I left them soaking wet... and the whole surrounding mulch... Low humidity made me go crazy :D

:O didn't check it and now as You said it I definitely will :O Thanks for sharing the photos. Looks exactly like in my case. Now I know what to avoid!

We have DAY#11, ladies and gentlemen.

Thanks for calming words @Iriee Vibez and @DMHeights . The deformation is fading away as I just stopped spraying the plants directly.

Here is how the first plant that I called BGPP#1 looks like on Day#11:

And here is how BGPP#2 on DAY#11 looks like:

So, @Iriee Vibez , what is the right moment to cut 2/3 of the top of the plant? We see plants with 3 nods, am I right?

Hey man, I think you mean topping the plant. It is just carefully clipping off the new growth above the fourth node, which usually is after the second set of five fingered leaves. You just want to clip the new growth above that fifth node to promote two tops where there was one. There are lots of YouTube videos out there on that. Just do a search on topping marijuana plants, and you should visually see what I am saying.

Full disclosure though, I have notoriously topped and even double topped my plants. When I grew in DWC it was a huge help with yield and bud development. However, since I switched to organic soil, my plants have been flowering consistently earlier. I found that topping slowed veg growth for the autos and impacted my yields. I have not topped my last two plants and notice a difference in growth. I am still not getting DWC sized plants, but not growing runts any more either. All I am saying is try it, experiment, learn from your experiment, do more if it works, and less of it doesn’t. To me, that’s the whole secret of this growing stuff.

I always top after the 5th set of nodes M8 the reason being that sometimes I find the first set a bit weak and unable to keep up with the other 4 sets so if that happens I can remove the bottom set of nodes to let the plant concentrate on the strong arms/branches and I'll still have 8 strong nodes/branches which I just let go untrained due to space restrictions.. but which you can then LST/tie down nice and neatly if training was your plan  hope that makes sense! Just something to bear in mind when topping.

Thanks guys for the answer. So from both comments my conclusion is - top the plants right after the 5th set of nodes.

That's a great advice. I think I will go only LST on both plants then and we will see how they grow. I will be planting two more of the Auto BubbleGum soon and maybe go harder on them... some topping on one and fimming on the other? On the other hand this BubbleGums seem to grow extremly fast and I'm worried this HST may stun them. For now I'll let them grow.

So for the LST I'd like to mount a self made kinda scrog net - or whatever you call it - to tie my ladies, you know 50 shades of gray kinda stuff ;D Bu I don't know at what hight it should be... Any advices? I've seen people put it on different heights. And what are your preferences?

I personally have never done a Scrog, C2. That’s ambitious for the first grow. I usually see it done most effectively in situatioms where the grower has enough plants to fill the space, or the space is small enough for one or two plants to fill the space. In your situation with all that space, I think you can maximize the plant growth with LST. If you are going that way, I might start by bending the main stem of them plant over a bit more and anchoring to the side of the pot. This will encourage more tops to grow. You can then decide if you want to or need to top. The plants look prime candidates for some training.

And it’s the opposite. You only should consider topping fast growing healthy plants, as they usually bounce back quicker than a slow growing one.
