New Grower My first grow journal. Heavyweight Strawberry Cheese Cake

Hey pigman one of my SC girls got her first true leaves. Photos still out growing the autos on vegatative side, I have a feeling the autos are concentrating on roots first as they will need a good vascular system for their accelerated growth. I am doing hydro so I need to get the kinks out of my design within the next two weeks. Why did you decide to go with hps lighting instead of led?
I can't believe I'm saying this, yeah I admit to checking up on my babies several times a day. They do grow rather rapidly. They are the daughters I never had.

Are those lowe's buckets? They should start really growing now as they should have a large enough root system and they have enough leaf area to ramp up growth. Grow on the lasses look great!
:vibes:

yes they are 5gal lowes buckets, I wanted to make sure they had plenty of room to grow their roots in. I believe right now they have been focusing on getting their roots down deep and hopefully they will take off like a rocket and really start growing more green!

ok guys, day 23. since I have given the girls some 1/2 strength nutes they have really been shooting upwards! beginning to think I may have over loaded my wagon starting 5 plants at once. I was thinking I would only get 2 or 3 to come up but all 5 did...so now I am concerned with them over growing my tent when I get it. been reading up a lot on the growweedeasy website and im going to start LST them when they start getting taller. I don't want a Christmas tree with only one big cola....im greedy... I want many big colas LMAO! anyways guys just a few pics to show the girls off, please enjoy and any thoughts or concerns are always welcome!

Looking good pigman. You could put two or three of your girls in the tent and get those to flower first while you keep the other two or three plants in a vegatative state. Then when you are ready to harvest the first two or three plants you can put the remainig plants into the tent and induce flowering. Use the plants traits to your advantage.
Either way, you are doing a great job keep it up.

looking nice pigman :)
I use cd cases under the pots of the small ones to get an even canopy.
good luck with your babies :)

day 27. looks like they have exploded in there pots! already starting to give off a pleasant smell when you walk into the room lol.

I purchased my tent a couple days ago. its a 4'x4'x7' and have been looking at getting a MarsHydro 900watt LED. from the specs I have read this will be enough to cover the area inside the tent.

and now I have a question. I read on here a day or two ago, someone was talking about carbon scrubbers. I was under the impression that if you have a 400 CFM fan you needed a 400 SFM filter. but if I remember correctly this was not the correct way to match your fan and filter???

anyways have a look at the pics and any thoughts or feed back is always appreciated!

ok guys, today is day 28! the girls are looking great to me! been feeding them 1 teaspoon of fish emulsion to give them a little boost now during the veg stage. last couple of days they have really been gaining alot of vertical growth. anyways have a look at them and see what you think. any tips or feed back is always welcomed!

also I purchased the attached tent and mars hydro 900w LED today! I should have both the tent and the LED in about 10 days! really looking forward to seeing how much better they do under the LED.

Hairy,
I believe it was in your thread that I read where when you swapped over to the LED yours started to get the "claw" , and if I remember correctly, someone posted something about how to cure that...was it by adding cal/mag?Capture2.JPGgroup.jpg#3.jpg#2.jpg#1.jpg#5.jpg#4.jpgCapture1.JPGCapture.jpg

Hi Pigman, things are looking real healthy, Leaf claw is normally associated with a N nitrogen Toxicity, calcium and magnesium deficiency shows differently, there is a page of leaf symptoms on howtogrowweedeasy; growers who use Led normally supplement their feed with cal/mag though this addition is also made for some strains also, who just seem to eat the stuff for fun, so is the plan to grow these in the tent? when are you going to put them on 12/12? remember they will give a big stretch once you do.

N toxicity usually causes the claw, not deficiency bud. Ca/Mg will show as necrotic spots, yellowing between leaf veins.
