We have the same problem LOL my woman is tired of hearing it but is to nice to say anything.

Love your journal so far! You have everything needed for a good grow just ask away and read other journals for new ideas (what i do)
Can't wait to see how you do, goodluck.
Ha! Well now we have each other.

Maybe one of these days I’ll actually have something to journal about. Still just waiting for signs of life!

I’m a dad. This is Violet Beauregard, a Purple Punch from Seedsman, my first to make an appearance. Feels good to see life in my grow. :)

No doubt!

So the seed that popped first is the one I put directly into the soil from the package. I hear you, nature. Don’t think I’ll mess with the paper-towel method again.

Solo cup or rockwool cubes, screw the towel method (my opinion)
I might try soaking them in water for 24 hours then putting in final spot for my next attempt.

my 2 ctz -> the paper towel thing is totally sillee :nono: i jus soak my beanz fo 36-48h, then into the final pot they go...i keep the soil misted is all & uzually see sproutz 2-4d later...workz for me :smoking: ppp

I do water to runoff BUT I let the pots sit in the runoff for 5-10 minutes. If the soil can take more liquid it will drink up the runoff. If not, only then would I dump it.

It is never a good idea to let run-off re-soak into the pot:
1. It will cause a salt build up in the pot.
2. The bottom of the pot remains too wet too long opening a pathway for pathogens especially root rot and fungus gnats
3. plants should be held above the run-off tray with an air space underneath.
4. water your outdoor plants with it.

It takes skill to water just to run-off in soil but it is the goal.

Thanks, Man O Green, I appreciate the clarification/correction!
