I have a ballless plant! She’s got her issues, but by god she’s got no balls! Woohoo! :headbang:

Welp, Violet, my Purple Punch freebie from Seedsman, turns 9 weeks from sprout today. Here's how this poor girl is looking on Day 63.

She doesn't have many leaves, and the leaves she does have are crispy and sad. But while her buds aren't exactly large, there are plenty of them and a lot of light gets into this plant. Hoping these buds bulk up a bit as she approaches the finish line, but I believe they're still going to be pretty spongey come harvest time.

First time looking at trichomes! Seems a good day to do it. Here's what I'm seeing:

Guess the pics I snapped are of trichomes on leaves mostly. The trichomes on the buds look the same. Mostly clear, some seem a bit cloudy, none amber.

In ten days I'll be leaving for a six-night vacation. I feel like this plant has at least two weeks to go, probably more like three. Hope I can keep her alive that long!

Nice amount of buds but those leaves are toasted. I like those trichome pics, nice quality.

I would chop her in 9 to 10 days and let it dry while you are away.

Man, no doubt. The only healthy leaves on this plant are the brand new ones, and there are few of them and they are tiny. This plant has just been such a struggle.

Now that I'm looking at this comparison image, I guess my purple punch trichomes are more cloudy than they are clear. Do you agree, @Zeromitch?

Hopefully I get some amber between now and chop.

Also, I guess it's best to water this girl with just PHed water until chop at this point?

Hey bud not seen you about for a few days. Guess we have lives lol. Plants looking nice and your very close now, as to phed water that is your choice, I just harvested my first plant yesterday and I fed her right up until chop, a light feed but still a feed. All the best with the rest of ya grow.

cloudy as hell :smoking:

Now for a bit of an update on my northern lights plants, which are both on Day 56 from sprout.

First, my big girl, Klara, the best plant of the three. She's got some purple in her pheno and smells like sweet candy and is frosting up a bit. I tried to LST her but still her main cola stretched and became very dominant. She's suffered some deficiencies, but less so than the others. I also managed to burn her tips lately. I'm sure some of her rough leaves are a result of the plant getting closer to harvest and the buds sucking them dry. Her buds aren't exactly impressive in size, but they're the biggest I've got. I think she'll have a decent yield.

I guess they don't call 'em Fastbuds for nothing. This girl is actually getting somewhat close, as her trichomes are mostly cloudy and even have a small percentage of amber.

I'd like to harvest her at 20% amber or so, as I'm looking for some couch lock from this plant. I believe I'll be okay to let her go until I'm back from vacation, which is 15 days from now. Hopefully her buds will bulk up in the coming weeks a bit.

And now for my enigma: Johanna. Same pack of seeds as Klara, but boy, what a totally different pheno.

She basically smells like nothing. I constantly tried to open her up but she was just so bushy that I struggled. I probably should have defoliated her more. Her buds are like small golf balls. They're finally starting to bulk up a little more I think.

Her trichomes are also mostly cloudy at this point:

Man these cheap digital microscopes work well for nabbing pics of trikes!

I'd ultimately like to harvest the Northern Lights plants at somewhat different trichome stages. Perhaps I'll try to harvest this one at 10% amber, or maybe 30%, just so I can compare the effects. I believe this girl will also be fine to wait for chop until at least 15 days from now.

Anyway, that's where I am so far. I'll do another update on all three next week. Onward and (hopefully) upward!

Smashin it! Great job for the first time:weed:
Thanks! Plenty of problems with this grow, but that’s how it typically goes on a first dance. I’m loving it and know I’ll gain more skill as I go. What a hobby!

I’ll be drying my plants in a 2x4x4 tent with an in-line fan and carbon filter for odor control.

Do y’all think I’ll need a small fan inside the tent as well, obviously aiming away from the buds—or will the in-line turned up a decent amount provide enough air movement? I’m thinking the in-line is probably more than enough, especially in a drying environment so small.
