Haven’t updated in a bit. I trudge on, but in true newb fashion, all of my plants have issues. All of these images are under the SP3000 and make the plants look more lime green than they really are.
First, my oldest, the Purple Punch freebie from Seedsman. This girl has been way off from early in her life, and I’ve not been able to right the ship. She keeps budding, but she sure is beat up. Her nutes are Jack’s 321, and I’m diluting to 600 ppm when I feed her, once a week or so. I suspect that I was so afraid of her hot
OF that I've habitually underfed. I remove a lot of leaves from this plant. If I remove all of the jacked up leaves, she won't have any left!
Next there's the first Northern Lights from FastBuds. This plant is bushy as fuck and doing way better than the PP, but still has her share of problems. Seems to me a clear calcium and magnesium deficiency anyway. I'm giving her calcium nitrate and potassium sulfate when I feed her, as part of the Jack's 321 approach, but maybe I'm not feeding her often enough. Today I was able to open her up a good bit, after taking these images. Removed some leaves and did some of the most effective training yet. She's finally stretched enough that I can move her around a bit.
Perhaps my healthiest plant is my second Northern Lights. She was rock solid until about a week ago, when she started to show issues. The tacoing is getting pretty bad, and there are some leaf issues as well. She's so tall that I'm having to work to keep her away from the light, which I have just about as high as it'll go in my tent. I suspect she's also deficient in some nutes, and is showing some light stress.
And here's my sad band of misfits all together.
This Memorial Day weekend I'm going give my tent a deep clean, and try to position the Hurricane fans better. (I hate these fans. No matter what I try I can't get them pointed in the direction that I want.) I also think I need to get a dehumidifier in the tent, as humidity around here is starting to ramp up and I don't want to add mold or rot issues to my already impressive docket of maladies.
I think I'm going to finish the grow to the best of my abilities, and then not start my second grow until after the Autoflower Cup. I'm just having trouble learning how to balance nutrition by reading stuff online and getting occasional advice on forums. I'm smart enough to understand this, and I think I just need to be able to have real conversations about it.
For now, onwards and hopefully mostly upwards!
