That’s kinda what I thought I remembered. Might be a pH issue. Somehow they are needing N do you have a soil pH meter?
Nope, and that could be it. I’ve just been watering with distilled water, which has measured 6.2, but when I tested runoff it showed 5.8. Now sure how accurate doing it that way is.

For my next watering, I was planning on mixing dechlorinated tap water and distilled, and PHing it down to 6.5. Maybe I need to get a soil PH meter though.

Sure appreciate the feedback you guys are giving. I’m good with experimenting and figuring things out, but this community definitely shortens the learning curve.

I remember reading about ffof causing curling on young plants due to it being little hot, i think that depends on certain strains not liking it hot or whatever i did not experience that though

You do know distilled water has basically no minerals I hope.no calcium, magnesium etc. I use distilled and mix half tap with it (well warer). If you on city water let it sit out for 24 hrs to dissappear any chlorine. But MOG or 1 of the other more experienced growers could give a more in depth answer.

I wondered about that too. Man O Green had mentioned before that even cut by 25% it’s still too hot.

Getting a bit browner on the first serrated leaves and the fan leaves seem spotty and dimply. I’d been running the SP3000 at 50% and 14” but started to dial it up gradually in the last day or so. I don’t think it’s the light though.

I have a soil PH meter on the way. I’ll need to water before it gets here, and if the soil’s PH is off, I’m sure it’s low. When I tested the runoff from her last watering with my Apera PH meter it was 5.7. So maybe I’ll water her in a day or so at 6.7 or so with a mix of dechlorinated tap water and distilled water, then check the soil when the new meter gets here.

But maybe it’s just the FFOF.

It’s Day 11 and she’s hurting a bit.

For starters, I think I might be under watering. I may have let her dry too much. Concerned about the soil being hydrophobic, so when I watered her this morning I went very slowly and thoroughly. Her last watering was four days ago, and she’s in a three-gallon cloth pot. Maybe that’s too long to wait for FFOF cut with Light Warrior in a pot this size.

I watered her this morning with a mix of distilled and dechlorinated tap at 6.5 PH. (I calibrated my Apera meter first.) At first her runoff measured 3.2! I watered to a bit more runoff and it was 5.3. Tested again after a bit more runoff had accumulated and it was 5.6. I dumped that water and when I got a bit more, it tested at 5.8, and that’s where it settled. I watered to more runoff today than normal, because I wanted to see if the PH would increase. Normally I try to water to minimal runoff.

I think I really want to see runoff of 6.4. Wondering if I should basically do a flush with 6.5 water until I get to 6.4. (Could help cool down the FFOF too?) Or if I should have PHed my water up to higher than 6.5 to try to bring the soil up.

It’s my first real challenge and it’s fun trying to tackle it!

Took the time to do a thorough cleaning of the tent and runoff trays. I figure if she’s gonna be under the weather, she should at least be resting in a spotless room.

My Fast Buds NL seeds have been in the soil for two days. Not out of bed yet.

Onward and (hopefully) upward!

she is actually doing much better, and she is definitely on the right track. You will get the hang of the watering don’t worry. The pH seems to be getting back into acceptable range. You can tellbecause those leaves are going from yellow to green. You are doing good!

Also @WildBill says to use some yucca powder to help with hydrophobic soil. I don’t really know how to use it lol but he does for sure
