Alright B&B, I got called out by a fellow mod so I am going to give it a go bro. I am going to tell you from the start, my hydro experience is very limited.
A few questions I need answered.
1) What type, how many watts and how close are your lights?
2) What is the temp in your room?
3) What is the ph of your tank and how much have you fed her already?

Do you think your PH is a bit high. I know hydro tends to rise overtime in many reservoir systems. 6.2 is at the upper max. It is my understanding that 5.8 is about perfect, a tad lower is good for seedlings and veg. So, the upper limit would be the equivalent of the upper limit of 6.8 in soil--a point, at which lock out begins.
Hoping a hydro pro can verify above and assist you.

Oh that was very useful actually I figured it out because of this. My light is at 450, and is about two feet away. The room is mid seventies, but the ph is not in the right.
Your exactly right. The ph jumped up really high. I'm about to redo the res. Whats the best way to flush the water in the clay beads?

I don't think you need to redo the res bro, just ph it back down in the safe zone. That is what I have been doing to mine anyway, seems to be working out good. No need to go through all the work of redoing it if the only thing wrong is the ph has raised a bit. I noticed mine rises twice and I ph it back down, then settles in.
haha well damn I just finished it, but I'm just gonna do what you said. because It'll be really hard to do that all right now. so I just wasted some time and nutrients lol.
I have another question that I'd really like answered, and would really appreciate. I want to transfer my plant into the 5 gallon bucket I got from lowes. Is it possible to get rid of the clay beads, and put it in a new basket? Currently, there is some sort of dirt collecting around the side of the basket it is in, and I really want to wipe it all down. However I'm not quite sure if taking it out, and putting it in a different basket may hurt it?
I've been dreading getting on here all day because I fucked up. The ph problem was only fixed for the night, and after I got home from taking my girlfriend to work this morning the water's ph had sky rocketed again. The little girl was basically dead. I have felt like such an ass all day because of this. I have learned that I need to check the ph every couple hours instead of once day. I feel so dumb, and I'm really disappointed.
This was completely my fault, and could have been prevented if I had paid a little more attention. I blame myself 100%. However I had a few problems with the general hydro dwc set up. First off I cleaned the entire container before I planted the rock wool. I also cleaned the drip ring however only a quick once over. After about four days of using the drip ring the letters going around the inside began to fall off. In almost a day the top of the container was coated in an odd residue. It took me another day to notice the drip ring letters were running off into the water, and at one point the residue coated the little baby leaves. I cleaned them off using water from the res.
My next big problem was how small the res was. I had believed it was 3 gallons, but it turned out to only hold two. Because of this every two days the res water dropped drastically low to where nothing would come from the drip ring, and the water was not high enough for the roots to even be closed to. I have learned from my mistake hopefully. I am extremely disappointed with myself. However the only way to learn is to get back up, and try again I suppose. I bought a new Reverse Osmosis pump today. I just began germinating the auto blue berry. Please don't be too negative. I need constructive criticism.
I also got a free bottle of dutch master silica. Would it be a bad idea to germinate the seed with water from the RO pump with a little bit of silica, rapid start, and floralicious plus? Let me have it, and don't hold back criticize till you feel I know exactly what to do next time. Captain hindsight is needed here......

Don't beat your self up over it bro, shit happens. The best lessons I learned about growing was from my own mistakes. I'd ditch that setup and drip ring, it's really not needed. Get you a dark colored 5 gallon bucket and a 6" net pot lid. I'd also recommend insulating it, if res temps can't be kept at around 68-70 without it. Better luck on the auto blueberry.
Hey beagle, dont worry man. I gave DWC a stab and blew it bad on my first attempt. It truely is an artform, and not for everyone. I was so pissed at myself, I gave up on it for now, until I get my nerve back. Please dont give up on it!!! I will get er done one day, but at the present, I have a tent full of soil grown plants. You can do this!!! These fine dwc folks are top notch and they WILL help you to become a better grower!!! These folks grow freakin trees in these 5 gallon buckets!!! Whats not to like and Love about that???
